Monthly Rentals in Clutha River / Mata-Au

We wanted something out of the ordinary, different from Wanaka and Queenstown. We got that. Although a little off the tourist track, this was one of our favourite places to stay. Peaceful, brilliant scenery, hot tub, honey tasting and free jar of honey (we purchased 3 extra tubs and their stall down the road). Michael and Tracy were great hosts. Very accomodating. A highlight for us was to wander their farm meeting their puppy, ducks and chickens. Our little boy loved this and also picking fresh raspberries from their orchard. We would have loved another day to relax and unwind. We will be back!

It is a wonderfully cute place with lots of little touches and the true sense of being in the country. Shelley's comms and eye for details to make you feel like you're in a little home were just wonderful and the keys to the local HEATED outdoor pool were an underestimated bonus. We loved our stay and will definitely be back!

Great stay in Ettrick before doing the Clutha Gold trail. Judy had the hot tub ready for us both nights of our stay which was amazing especially after a day out riding.

Denise is a friendly and helpful host. Her character cottage is well appointed and very comfortable for two. As we ate out for lunch and dinner we didn’t use the kitchen facilities. The cottage is in a great location as a base to explore Central Otago.
