Cabin holiday rentals in Virginia

The cabin was really nice with comfortable accommodations and everything you need. There is a road that runs in front of and behind the cabin that has quite a bit of traffic on the weekend as the road is an entrance to a park/campground and it was a holiday weekend. This was a benefit to us though as we love to hike and could walk to or drive within a couple of minutes to several really great trails! Having the heated in ground pool for my daughter was amazing and when we had some issues with Bees the owners handled it right away. This is definitely a cabin in the woods by the water so come prepared with bug repellant. We did venture out to some local wineries and a lavender farm/winery but would have been just as content to enjoy the cabin and the property! Overall we really enjoyed this place and would totally go back when we are visiting the Harrisonburg area.

Perfect cabin — wish could’ve stayed longer. History buffs should take a walk past the old post office and see the church and cemetery.

I was able to use this magnificent place as a base while section hiking the AT. Beautifully designed from the inside to out, nothing was missing. Hot tub after a long hike? Yes please! Grill a steak too? Absolutely! I encourage anyone who loves beauty and wants the ability to explore this area to take full advantage of this wonderful home.

Just got home from our little get away. The cabin was wonderful! Had everything we wanted. The view waking up to from the bedroom window was breathtaking. The kitchen had everything you could need and the view from that huge picture window was beautiful! We enjoyed the large hot tub and made good use of the pool table. The weather wasn't the best and got a little chilly but the fireplace helped with that. This weekend was exactly what we needed....Beauty, relaxation and peace! Thanks Mark!

We had an amazing stay at the cabin! The cabin was clean and beautifully decorated. We had everything we needed in the kitchen. Checking in and out was very easy. The nearby waterfall is such a cool addition! As others have noted, the driveway to get to the cabin is bumpy. We had to drive slowly and carefully in our small car.

We absolutely LOVED the cabin and didn't want to leave. It was beautiful, a great mix of rustic and modern. We appreciated the fully stocked kitchen and shampoo/conditioner/body wash in the bathrooms. We enjoyed having the hot tub and the fire pit. The beds were comfy. It was a peaceful and a fantastic trip. We plan to stay again in the future.

Spent the weekend up here for a quick getaway. It’s a beautiful cabin - location is great, it’s very quiet, and it was the perfect place to escape life for a couple of days. Loved it!!

This location was fantastic, plenty of room and things to do. Very peaceful. The host had clear directions on how to make this stay as smooth as possible, and was very communicative ! The Chickencoop is amazing! Super clean, pup friendly and everything was as advertised. Brenda thought of every little detail, including a food and water bowl waiting for the dogs. We will definitely recommend this stay to anyone in the Abingdon or Damascus area.

If you want a rustic log cabin, this is as good as it gets. The place was awesome. Fireplaces were great. Great beds. Comfortable couches. If you’re looking for seclusion, this probably isn’t the space, but we knew that going into the stay!

Very quiet and peaceful location with farm/country scenery all around. Cabin was cozy and comfortable ... ideal for a couple. The host was very responsive and also informative about nearby points of interest. We enjoyed our stay.

I can’t give enough stars to our hosts and their beautiful piece of mountain Heaven. They were above and beyond friendly even when we had a serious situation that needed their help. Thank you Ashley! The beautiful views are priceless from the porch and within the well thought out space that gives you constant views as well. Gorgeous wood working throughout, my husband turns wood and we really enjoyed these touches. The Greyson Highlands were a short 15 min drive away and such a magical place to hike Our Dog Winston had the time of his life too A huge thank you to our amazing hosts, 5 + Stars . Book if you can!!

From the greeting of Buddy and farm friends upon arrival it was made known that we were welcomed and invited into their home ! It offered exactly what I was seeking for our getaway trip - Peace, Relaxation and Nature! It’s a great escape from the normal busy life and allowed us to slow down and enjoy the harmony of nature and its surroundings! We loved every minute of being in our little cabin, walking the trails, feeding the animals, watching my grand girls play so carefree, fishing, boat paddles, swinging on swing. Lastly, hearing Paul’s fireside stories and meeting other people were an extra bonus! It was difficult leaving and returning home; however we will return soon! :)

The cabin is beautiful and had plenty of room for us (6 adults, 3 kids & 1 infant). Everything was exactly how it is pictured! The hosts couldn’t have been nicer & were very accommodating. Location was perfect for all that we wanted to see including Luray Caverns & hiking Shenandoah National Park. Our family vacation was perfect and we look forward to staying there again in the future!

My stay at Amy and Derek’s place was the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. I took advantage of fishing and exploring the property with my pup, who was very enthused with the abundant wildlife. It truly is a unique place and I would absolutely come again! I would highly recommend the town of Galax VA only 35 minutes away. The breweries and coffee shop/antique stores are definitely worth a visit. Amy and Derek were very helpful with checkout as I was not able to view my checkout itinerary due to service issues (they do have WiFi!) and I would highly recommend reaching out to them for any help or recommendations on things to do or places to visit. Overall, if you’re looking for a relaxing retreat this is definitely the place for you! Thank you Amy and Derek for an amazing stay!

Great spot! Hope very much to return. Pros: very nicely appointed cabin. Not luxury but pretty close! Has all the things you need to make an enjoyable stay. Incredibly good access to hiking, both on foot straight from cabin and by taking a short drive. We really enjoyed the bonfire pit and the supply of firewood. We went in the winter and it was nice to get a bit of snow. Would probably be gorgeous bird watching and such in the summer. Really nice to be surrounded by nothing but trees. Felt like we had a whole mountain to ourselves. Cons: I am noise sensitive, and I did find the main cabin to be pretty close quarters. So if you’re like me or are seeking privacy or quiet amongst a loud group of folks, maybe something to think about. Also not the easiest kitchen to make a big meal (no dishwasher, small drying rack) but we definitely made it work for 5 people. Also to note — we had a couple 2WD cars that made it up the hill to the cabin, but we brought them back down hill for snow

Pleasantly surprised by the cabin. We appreciated the scenic location, the cleanliness of the place, and the ease to get there along with the closeness to many trails and needs.

We enjoyed our peaceful stay at the yurt. The views were beautiful. The place was clean and had everything we needed. Plenty of wood was provided for the fire pit. Douglas was promptly responsive if I had a question. We really enjoyed our stay and would like to come back again.

We really enjoyed this mountain getaway cabin! Loved the privacy and the beautiful surroundings. Cabin was comfortable and location was great next to a mountain stream and close to hiking trails. The lack of cell service/wifi only added to the appeal. Really helped to disconnect. Fun selection of DVDs, books and games. Awesome place to view the night sky. Hosts were very responsive and provided helpful instructions. We definitely would love to go back.

We want to thank Mark so much for being an incredible host—our stay couldn’t have been more perfect! It was the ideal getaway to celebrate my son’s upcoming birthday. The property was peaceful, beautiful, and packed with things to do. Mark truly goes above and beyond to upgrade the experience and make guests feel completely at home. Our first stay was on March 7th, and this second visit somehow managed to be even better. Mark takes feedback seriously and quickly makes thoughtful improvements based on suggestions. He also provided excellent recommendations for local places to visit, which made our trip even more special. He’s always friendly, responsive, and clearly dedicated to creating a five-star experience. We can’t wait to return and explore more of the amazing locations he hosts. By far the best Airbnb experience we’ve had—highly, highly recommend!

My first stay at The Cabin and definitely plan on returning! It was better than the pictures. Location is very special along with the perfectly decorated cabin. I love antiques and birds and felt like a warm hug the minute I drove onto the property and entered the cabin. So grateful to have had this experience. Thank You Anna.

We had a very relaxing and pleasant stay. Would recommend to anyone wanting to unplug and enjoy nature. Lot's to do at the site with walking trails, disc golf and a fire pit.
