This place is nothing short of magical. Waking up to the serene sound of the river flowing right next to the property was an experience in itself. The view was absolutely epic. What made the stay even more special was the host. We had the most memorable conversation that truly added a personal touch to our experience. Every meal was a delightful treat, made with local flavors that perfectly complemented the serene setting. If you’re looking for a place that offers stunning views, heartfelt hospitality, and delicious food, this is it. I left with beautiful memories and a longing to return. Highly recommended!

The treehouse is a remarkable setting. We loved bird watching from our deck. Taking the kayak around the pond was serene (500 Rs). We walked nearby pathways through the tea bushes. 6 nights may seem like a long time but we relaxed right into it :). We did manage to get out for a tea plantation tour, a spice tour and a nature walk in Periyar Tiger Reserve - all worthwhile. As was shooting pool in the main building.. The people hosting were very helpful - Philip, Ganesh and Anuda (sp?).

The property is situated in the middle of a lot of foliage, and it was really cozy for us. Everything was squeeky clean and maintained well, and the caretaker Mr. Shaji took good care of us, delivered food and groceries on time, and he was really friendly. Mornings in The Placid Rill are the most beautiful. We could watch the sunlight falling on the mountains and trees nearby, right from the bed. It was a 5 star property and a 5 star experience, and it is very ideal for couples and small families. One small issue I would say was that the wifi in our room was a little weak. I had some work documents to upload, and it took a lot longer than expected. But I don’t mind that. Would 100% recommend to a friend.

Our stay at the Rockland Estate was wonderful. The setting was incredibly tranquil. We had our pet dog with us & it was a perfect getaway. The care takers made sure the house was clean & the food homely. Esha our host was always accessible over the phone & made sure we had a lovely stay!
