Great value for the money you pay. Quiet location that is still close to the beach and city. Raffaella is a very friendly host and the entire Airbnb is kept in a very homely and simple way. Good breakfast. You have an outdoor shower and everything is open so you will come across some animals :)

Cheap. Nice location. Comfy big bed. Room smelt a bit damp is only drawback. Good shower. Good location.

Nice b and b off the main road. Easy to walk to restaurants and beaches. Clean, quiet and great breakfast. Laundry service available and towels are provided for beach use. Lovely staff.

Small resort in quiet place by the beach. It's great that there is a swimming pool and plenty of chairs and sun loungers. You can also swim in the sea. There is a restaurant with a choice for a good price. If you want to go somewhere, you should take a tuktuk. The only downside is the mattresses. We slept well in itself, but the mattresses had a clear pit.

One of the most beautiful views we have seen in our lives, both from our room and from the breakfast area. The road is difficult in a vehicle but is worth the walk or drive to be away from the busier town below.

Asela is a great and very helpful host. He knows everything about local attractions and can organized anything you need. The place is very nice and clean, with friendly atmosphere. People around - kind and positive. I have only good memories about this stay!

We stayed at Saman’s place in Ella during our trip, and it was a lovely experience! The room was basic but very clean and cozy, perfect for a comfortable stay. The real gem here is the view — simply breathtaking! From our window and private balcony, we had a clear view of the lush mountains and a beautiful waterfall. Honestly, we could’ve just sat there all day soaking in the beauty of Ella. Although the property is located on a hill, it’s easily accessible by tuk-tuk. We also enjoyed walking downhill through the scenic tea gardens to reach the town — such a peaceful and picturesque route! Breakfast was delicious and satisfying every morning. Saman was a super responsive and kind host — always quick to help with any questions. He even arranged a tuk-tuk for us early in the morning to get to the train station, which was incredibly helpful. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a quiet, nature-filled escape in Ella with unbeatable views. #coupleexploration

Thank you so much for a wonderful stay that exceeded our expectations! Staying here is a gem of a find, because Sanath is clearly a well respected man locally who has extensive knowledge of elephants and the surrounding area. The hospitality was unmatched and the food served my Sanath & family was delicious. In addition, we loved hearing his stories of time spent working in the national park. We wish Sanath and family all the best for their future plans and wholly recommend staying here for a safari adventure.

We loved staying at Sam & Lola’s. From the extremely convenient location, to the private pool, comfy bed, family of monkeys who come to visit, the welcome drinks and the hospitality, welcome and farewell from Manoj, we couldn’t fault this place. We felt right at home, it was totally peaceful and serene but close to all the action when you want it. It’s a joyful place and we had so many kind and friendly interactions with flo, Tim & Manoj - it’s like what you always want anywhere you stay. You feel so close to nature but also rested and ready to party. For us it was totally perfect!!! I would recommend not forgetting about the Dickwella beach - just as close and a great sunset spot!

We enjoyed staying here very much! The house and the rooms are very nice, ideal for someone working remotely as the coworking space is great and the WiFi works very well!

Piumi's place was fantastically beautiful. A very new and modern house with currently four rooms. We had a triple room and were very satisfied. So far the cleanest we had. The garden was well maintained and equipped with a beautiful new pool, which was serviced daily. Piumi has conjured up a delicious breakfast for us daily (for a small extra charge). We highly recommend this place and would come back any time.

Such a gorgeous resort and hidden gem! Our room was clean and very comfortable, with a huge bed and large open shower. We stayed in many places in Sri Lanka but this was definitely one of our tops - wish we could’ve stayed longer! Food was also really nice, and very easy check in and check out process.

We had the most wonderful stay at this place. The family who hosted us were incredibly kind and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The place is amazing, clean, beautiful and the fleshly prepared food was absolutely delicious, and it truly made our experience in Sri Lanka even more special. If we ever return to Sri Lanka, we will definitely make sure to stay at their place again. Thank you so much for everything – we can't wait to come back!

From before arriving Rivindu was super helpful with airport taxi and recommendations. The team at the house where even more amazing always helpful, friendly and doing their most to cater to our asks. From organising taxi/tuk tuk, cooking dinners and breakfast. Keeping the place clean. We had a power out due to a light raining period but everyone was on it fixing issues putting the back up solar generator on as the electric mains was down. This was only a small bump but the house didn't feel it much. The bed was super comfy and great pillows. We had breakfast in the pool and at the picnic table with the food being as nice as the views. Fresh fruits, drinks, eggs and toast. One night we had the seafood in latter, honey pork and Tom yum soup. It was super tasty and I'd recommend the Soup but only if you like it spicy! Amazing team, house, views and location to relax and unwind. Recommended!

This is a stunning spot a few minutes walk from Horseshoe Bay. Great decor, clean and really peaceful spot. Geraldine and Joshua looked after us brilliantly. We would definitely rebook. Only thing to note is that aside from (super delicious) breakfast there is no drink/food on offer for the rest of the day unless pre-arranged. But you can easily buy in the nearby supermarket and store in the fridge.

I spent a week at Meraki and loved it! Every detail—like a flower on the toilet paper, comfy pool cushions, pristine garden, and fluffy towels—added a personal touch. As a small, family-run hotel, Meraki stands out from large chains with genuine care from the owners and staff. On my first solo trip as a woman, I felt completely safe and welcome. The hotel’s design perfectly suits my taste, and I only wished my stay was longer (special thanks to Iona for accommodating a special wish of me!). The pool area is relaxing, and the yoga sessions were very nice (also for a beginner)! With an ideal location near the sea and attractions, plus an excellent breakfast featuring fresh fruits + a la carte options, and fantastic coffee, Meraki truly impressed me. Huge thanks to the entire team! Every single team member was treating me with kindness and I really appreciate this a lot 💚 in my opinion this is the perfect place to be in Sri Lanka’s south coast!

Beautiful place designed with taste, the food is excellent. The house is outside of Kandy in a quiet area, which feels good. The only problem: complicated to access in Tuktuk, they don't pick you up because they're too far away on Pick me and uber.

This hotel completely exceeded our expectations, the room was huge, clean and well presented. Very comfortable bed. Lovely pool and restaurant area, very peaceful. The best thing about this place is that the staff went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. The manager was very responsive on Whats app answering my queries before we arrived. And shout out to the staff member who served us the Sri Lankan breakfast every morning (wish I could remember his name!), he was lovely and so friendly. Breakfast was so delicious and a good opportunity to try the local food. The hotel also has a private tuk tuk driver, Dammika who was super friendly and always available to take us on our excursions. Overall, this hotel is amazing value for money and I can’t recommend it enough if you’re visiting Sigiriya!

We stayed a week at Slow Life boutique hotel. It felt very safe and contained . Our room was lovely upstairs with a little balcony ,air conditioning and our own bathroom. Everything was very clean our sheets and towels were changed . The common area was available but when in the hotel we spent more time in our lovely cool bedroom. Marissa was interesting to explore . The southern end of the beach was a lot calmer to swim in. It was great watching the surfers at the northern end of the beach . The only thing that wasn’t available was facilities to cook our own food . But that was fine as there were so many lovely places to eat in Marissa. Our hosts organised a scooter for us to use . Thanks very much for everything.
