The Bothy

SkyRating, 5 stars1 month ago
My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our getaway to Kersmains bothy. It felt very luxurious, with plenty of space for two! The sunroom/ kitchen is a lovely space to cook and the living room is so cosy and atmospheric in the evenings. We loved the hot tub under the stars as there is very little light pollution. Perfect for a country escape to the borders.

Pentland Hills cottage hideaway

PraseedRating, 5 stars1 week ago
It was a great place- in terms of its location, access to the two cities (Edinburgh and Glasgow), the space, amenities, serenity, a wonderful host (who pleasantly surprised you several times during the stay), pets around (there are many including two farm cats which are wild and adorable), bikes to make short rides around, a fully equipped kitchen, a jacuzzi in the open and place to have fire outside. It’s all pros and would love to go back again!

grooms cottage

MarieRating, 5 stars35 months ago
Grooms cottage was a great find for me. Used for a week during work visits. Perfectly located and close to the Northumberland national park and Hadrians wall. Secluded and remote, but what I needed. John was a great host and I made a new friend with the farm cat 😊

Samieston Lodge

EmmaRating, 5 stars6 months ago
We had a great stay at Samieston lodge. It was really clean and felt homely with lovely views of the countryside and a comfy bed. The garden was the best and most secure that we have had for our dog and was big enough for him to have a good around in. We found some lovely walks and some great places to eat near by

Larriston Coach House, for a very rural stay

JosephRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We had a great stay at the larriston coach house, large outdoor courtyard with fire pit area was fantastic, inside the property was lovely and spacious and had everything we needed. Mark made sure we had everything we needed and was very helpful. Location was good we were able to walk from the propriety to larriston falls where we had a cold water dip. We drove 15 minutes along the road to Newcastleton to the local butchers for breakfast items. We also popped out to a nice pub in bonchester bridge about 20 mins away. All in all great accommodation with plenty to do nearby.

The Hemmel, Old Town Farm

MichelleRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We had such a wonderful time here. The cottage is great with fantastic views. Our dog loved the garden which was very secure, the cottage was exactly as described with good quality furnishings and appliances etc. Kate was very friendly and happy to help. Lots of information provided on local walks etc., there are walks you can do from the cottage or a short drive will open many more options. We can’t wait to return for another peaceful, relaxing break!

Cosy, Romantic Bolthole for 2 - Coveyheugh Lodge

FionaRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We had a lovely stay in Catriona's place. We enjoyed everything about the cottage, but especially the treat of having a log burner on chilly evenings. Easy access to the coast at Coldingham was an added bonus - walking a part of the coastal path and a picnic at the beach were highlights of our stay. A few reviews mentioned the proximity of the railway, but we didn't find it a problem at all. The cottage was very peaceful and restful. Overall we had a wonderful weekend and would definitely love to return in the future

Northern Hideaways, Sunnyside

PaulRating, 5 stars3 months ago
Lovely spot that was perfect for our family. Views from nearly every side over rolling hills (very peaceful), easy walk to town and nearby trails to hike. Wasn’t far at all to places like Kielder Forest, Hadrians Wall or even Newcastle. As we stayed over Christmas, the hosts decorated the house to really make us feel at home! Would definitely stay again.

Rustic Renovated Cottage, Sunset Views, Pets

LaurenRating, 5 stars6 days ago
We’ve just arrived home from another amazing stay at the beautiful Border View cottage. Lucy is a fantastic host: super responsive, friendly and makes you right feel at home. Border View is a wonderfully charming cottage with spacious, airy rooms and amazing views. It is a very private and peaceful location and offers an array of nature walks which my little miniature schnauzer loved! You feel out of the way of the hustle and bustle, but still just a short car ride away from the busier villages in the area. To the rear of the property is a large garden with views across the pretty field and beyond - my favourite part was watching the stars at night as the sky is so clear here - beautiful! Lucy’s cottage is beautiful and has everything you need for a cosy stay including a log fire with logs kindly provided, a large kitchen and dining area and the beds are very comfortable. An absolute gem and we will definitely be back. Thanks Lucy! Best wishes, Lauren, Tracy, David and River x

Quiet Cottage Nr Edinburgh Airport /Ingilston

EvaRating, 5 stars4 days ago
We loved our stay in the house. We came for a few days of surfing at the surf pool Lost Shore, which was just a 10-minute drive away. Everything we needed was there, including a well-equipped kitchen, and there’s a Lidl and Aldi just around the corner. The beds were super comfortable. We highly recommend the house, also if you want to visit Edinburgh but prefer to stay a bit outside the city. It’s just a 30-minute drive away.

Lovely, roomy accommodation in beautiful peaceful surroundings. We were only stopping over for a couple of nights on our way to Scotland, however, this accommodation would be ideal for a longer stay in the Borders.
