Edwin was a fantastic host! He was quick to respond, gave great suggestions, and really made our stay special. The cabin is the perfect size for 2 people and well stocked (plenty of pots, pans, utensils, and even spices). There are bikes to use, however it does feel a little dangerous to bike on the road as it is very busy! I think a car would be helpful, although you are walking/biking distance from a major grocery store (major bonus as there are not many on the island). There are no beaches walking distance from the cabin. You can pay to take a boat to a private key which is very nice and totally worth doing! Again, it would be nice to have a car in order to explore different beaches. This area of the island is not super toursity, so it does feel very peaceful, but a bit excluded.

This was a delightful 2-bedroom cottage which was clean, modern, well-maintained and had AC and hot water in the shower. The host arranged for my entry and also a moto taxi so that I could get to and from Punta Gorda (PG) village where I enjoyed Garifuna food, music and culture. The cottage is very safe, quiet, had nice views and working Wi-Fi. You could walk to PG from here (about 2 miles), but mototaxi or moped may be better options. The furniture in the home was tastefully arranged and you could tell that host put some thought into what guests might need. The fridge, kitchen and bathroom were super clean with towels left out for me. I liked it here and would definitely stay again. It’s a good spot for families, but also solo travel or couples. Awesome stay on the east end. This place had everything we needed and then some. Very comfortable and incredibly CLEAN. Misty and Matt gave us some great local recommendations. We spent one day at Camp Bay beach. We didn’t get a chance to use the kayaks but we did spend the mornings on the dock enjoying coffee with the sunrise. We only stayed 2 nights then went to west end to spend the rest of our trip. I would recommend more time on the east end…more relaxing, less touristy and more authentic food options.
