Really clean! just like what other reviews mentioned. There's heater in the shared bunk bed room too. Private parking for guest so you don't have to park by the road side.

A beautiful setting, lovely staff and very nice and comfortable accommodation

Our double shared a bathroom with just one other room which was great. We were only there for a night, but you could hire out surfboards or lessons at the hostel too.

Absolutely loved this place - was a great start to our 10 day road trip. Incredibly tidy and easy to navigate - the cute animals and the mountain view were a wonderful bonus! Excellent value for money, would recommend.

I highly recommend! Amazing views, pure nature around you and really close to start (or end) the Routeburn track (it was the reason why we choose this accommodation).

Wonderful place to stay, with close proximity to the town's main road. Room was clean and today upon arrival and super quiet at night. Would stay there again!

if you plan to do the waitomo black abyss, this is the place to be! its about 5 mins walk. very clean and spacious too.

A safe and clean place to stay！！！

It is extremely easy to find the property. It is also absolutely easy to get the keys and check in. I love how accessible is the place to everything. I didn’t have any transport but the property itself to most of the places is walkable. There is also a bus stop just nearby of the property. Extremely convenient. The kitchen is very clean & it really has every basic thing that you can easily cook a meal for! Thumbs up! The bathroom / toilet is very clean too. The room is extremely comfy. I stayed in the non-window one for 2 nights but it was totally fine. It also has everything you need. Love it so much! Ted was also very responsive and helpful. I needed a proof of address letter and I seek Ted for help. The letter was placed under my room door within 10 mins. Extremely helpful & responsive. Overall a superb place to stay in Auckland! Love it! Thank you!

It was cheap and cozy, which was nice.

Great value to price, and 10 min walk to Britomart and the center of everything. I felt safe here as a solo female traveler. Do remember to bring your own shampoo and conditioner and stuff as you would in any other hostel 🙏

The place is super central and corresponded to the description. Ted was quick to respond to powerful people and the check in was easy. Everything was great.

What a peaceful place! I love the Hokianga. It has a special, very laid back feel to it and there is lots to do. Charlie was a wonderful host, very welcoming and friendly. We very much enjoyed talking to him...in our mother tongue 😄. And to top it off we were able to purchase some of the produce of their wonderful garden for our salad!! Thank you!!

This place is absolutely lovely. Tucked away in a quiet area is this quaint little gem full of amenities. Yes the building has been well loved and you can tell is a bit tired here and there, but is just so charming and peaceful with beautiful grounds and outstanding hospitality.

John and his wife are absolute pros when it comes to host people from all kinds. We have been lucky, and stayed at Old Bucks Head Tavern on exactly that one day in a month John opens his bar. One Friday per month (mostly second Friday) he opens the amazing old tavern (used by mineworkers back in the days). Despite that special fact, John and his wife are absolute warm and inviting hosts and offer a decent stay for a reasonable price bedded in a terrific landscape. Don‘t forget to ride through Arthur‘s pass or the West coast North of Greymouth, depending on where you are going.
