This rustic and cozy cabin sits on our 5 acre parcel in the cloud forest above Kona town on the Big Island, called Kaloko Mauka. It has it's own private little corner of the property, complete with secluded hot tub, yard and large lanai perfect for the bbq! One king bed in the studio, best for 2-3 adults. Loft can suit a child or two 8 years and older or another adult. There is a fold out futon with extra bedding and pillows. Loft railing is not completely protected for children under 8.

If you like nature and animals, come and enjoy our hobby farm! It's glamping in a tiny house with the incredible view. (It is a farm, not a hotel) The loft bed with ladder as picture shown. Screened/no windows so you can enjoy breeze and view. Cute living room and big shower/restroom down stairs. Patio with outdoor grill and sink. Beautiful sunset and infinity sea/sky line from the bedroom. Galaxy and shooting stars at the night. About 20mins from many beaches, and downtown.

Peaceful Private Rainforest Getaway

This little cabin is so cozy, it's like your home away from home. You will find most everything you will need while staying here. It's tucked away in the trees with a National Park right in the back yard! You'll wish you could stay longer! Please be sure to read the entire description of the listing so there are no surprises. Babies under 9 months are welcome ( pack and play is available). There is only one bed so there's no accommodations for children older than that.

Keith and his family are awesome folks and made us feel so welcome on their property. Perhaps one of the most relaxing trip I’ve ever had to Hawaii due to the solitude of the property and lovely animals roaming about (chickens, peacocks, sheep, horses). If you truly need to unplug and recharge the batteries, this is the place to do it! Bonus… Kīlauea was popping off during our visit and is only 1.5 hrs drive away.

Diane's cabin was a very peaceful place to stay. She was very responsive and flexible. Diane was even kind enough to assist me in coordinating to receive time-sensitive mail while staying at her cabin. The place was clean and organized. You can tell that much thought was put into the layout and where things were placed/organized around the cabin. I would definitely stay at Diane's cabin again.

Wonderful stay! Private, peaceful, gorgeous views. The Mango hut was added bonus to sit with morning coffee. Close to local beaches and close enough to Kona. We experienced local Hawaii, outdoor bathroom, the song of the frogs, the slower pace. All that we imagined.

We loved our stay here. Misty and Tom were both so friendly and welcoming and had lots to share about various hikes we were interested in, beaches to visit, as well as volcano activity. The surroundings were exactly as we hoped - private, simple and quiet, with lots of birds and frog song at night. Would highly recommend.

I would say that this location is not for everyone - as Louise states very clearly. We loved it! But it is definitely a little rustic outside. The inside is very clean with a funky decor. The amenities are great if you have a small child with you - lots of toys for them to play with. There were chickens and baby rabbits to see and a great tree to climb. We had a very nice time and Louise was very attentive but respectful of our privacy.

One of the best places I’ve stayed in the Volcano area. I travel up here a lot, coming every time Kilauea erupts as a professional photographer. Kris and Robin’s place was beautiful, thoughtfully designed and the amenities were excellent. The cabin has large glass windows that look out to the lush tropical forest. Much attention and effort has gone into maintaining the native forest species, like Hawaiian ferns and old growth O’hia, while removing the invasive ones. Something I highly appreciate. The wood burning stove was a nice feature that warmed the cabin and provided the perfect ambiance after spending all day/night chasing lava at the volcano. The kitchen appliances were nice too. The complimentary local coffee was excellent and English muffins with strawberry jam were a nice touch too. Overall this is my favoeite place I’ve stayed so far. I will certainly return and let my traveling photog friends in Hawai’i know.

Staying at this charming cabin in Keaau was truly magical. Beautiful, artistic, and full of thoughtful details—it felt so cozy and welcoming. Surrounded by lush gardens, birdsong, and playful geckos, we felt deeply connected to nature. The two lanais were perfect for morning coffee or relaxing meals, and at night, the starry sky took our breath away. The cabin was spotless, peaceful, and very comfortable, with everything we needed and more. The hot shower was a dream after days of exploring. Anzu and Bill were incredibly kind and went above and beyond. Bill shared local tips, stargazing help, and even alerted us about the Kīlauea eruption—thanks to him, we changed our plans and got to witness this unforgettable moment. The peaceful setting gave us the rest we needed, while still being a great base for adventures. Mahalo for everything!

Enchanting Rainforest Hideaway on 2 Private Acres

This was out second stay at Connie and Andrew’s Pahoa hideaway and it was just as wonderful as the first. This property is a wonderful place for a couple to spend a relaxing vacation. We spent most mornings enjoying the rental and its lush grounds. Saw the volcano eruption from the road nearby and were in volcano less than an hour later watching it in person, only hours after it started and it was done by the next morning. The “red road” in Puna was wonderful. We enjoyed Hilo and the Hamakua coast, as well as the charm of Pahoa. There is always a bit of driving to do on the Big Island and it was a respite to return to the Pahoa hideaway and relax under the stars. Thanks for another great stay. Hope to see you again soon.

This is such a tranquil and relaxing space on a beautiful part of Big Island. So close to the Volcano National Park and Hilo. The town of Volcano has some good eats and a fun art gallery. The accommodations so chill, well thought out, and just feels peaceful. You just need to be mindful of taking your own supplies of food and water from somewhere bigger like Hilo when coming here.

We had an amazing time at Christina’s! It was one of the most beautiful and interesting places we’ve stayed. We had everything we needed. The walk to the shore was quick and peaceful and the views from there were wonderful. The jungle surroundings were breathtaking. The home had everything we needed and more. The beds were like sleeping in clouds. We can’t wait to return someday!!
