Guesthouse holiday rentals in Alajuela Province

Silvia was a wonderful host and the local groundskeepers were lovely as well. Silvia went above and beyond, helping us to communicate to the airline regarding our luggage that didnt arrive. the place was exactly as posted and an amazing value, and was perfect for what we needed. it was wonderfully located from all the sights, and perfectly secluded for our family with little kids. We would love to stay here again when we come back to Cosra Rica!

Jose greeted us and was very kind. He made us welcome smoothies and explained everything about the property. We had a great time. The only time we had an issue was during checkout. The gate to the entrance was broken by other guests or wind or something and we were completely locked in to the property. We needed to leave for our next activity. We messaged Jose about it and he said he would come, but then he was not responsive until I messaged multiple times. It took him 45 minutes to arrive and afterwards he made us explain everything that happened like we did something wrong. His communication during this incident left a sour taste in our mouths, but otherwise this was a great booking. There are quite a few bugs.

This apartment is good, just as described in the listing. It's equipped with everything necessary and all appliances and WiFi work well. Good stay!

We really loved this Airbnb. The small casita was very comfortable, had great views, friendly animals that came to say hello regularly and was close to lots of activities near the lake and town. The space felt clean, super safe, and homey. We will definitely book again, our favorite place near the lake so far!!

Perfect place to visit Monteverde. Good price - qualilty! The hosts are really friendly. The kitchen can get crowded but everybody took their responsibility to leave everything clean. Thankyou 🤩

I received a warm welcome at check-in; very friendly hosts. The location is lovely, with grand views of the surrounding valley and hills. The trees and garden make it a peaceful oasis. The apartment is beautifully and thoughtfully decorated, as well as comfortable and cozy. Floor-to-ceiling windows make you feel like you are outside among the trees. The kitchen is better-equipped than you find in many Airbnb’s. As others have mentioned, you can walk to the town in about 15 minutes. There are also plenty of taxis in the town. I arrived in Atenas by bus, and had no problem getting around without a car. I would definitely recommend Cat and Yolanda’s place, and will stay there again in the future.

Very neat place on stilts with a great view. Equipped with all the essentials. Dolce was helpful in posting directions and pics on how to get there and get in so check in was easy. Perfect spot for a few nights!

Our stay at Joe and Joanne was more than perfect! If we could give more than 5 stars we would. The view from the house is stunning. The sunset amazing. The perfect place to begin our trip to Costa Rica! Very serene and beautiful place. The house is beautiful, very clean, well equipped. The hosts are so welcoming and nice! Joe showed us around the property, gave us great recommandations and advice for our activities and he cooked us a delicious breakfast! We even got the chance to see wild horses ! We would definitely recommend.

We had an amazing stay in this Airbnb! Our check-in was contactless and very easy. The house was clean and all amenities were present. The house had absolutely perfect views off the hills and the Pacific ocean! You can look for hours from the bed to the landscape. It can get quite windy sometimes so earplugs are provided. Some reviews talked about the lack of airconditioning and moisture problems, we did not experience any of this. There was no excess moisture and the fan was enough to keep the house cool. During the night it gets quite cold so there are thick blankets present. We also had a small issue with the bathroom but it was solved quickly by our host. The communication was excellent. The road to get there is quite an adventure. It is an unpaved roads with rocks so a 4x4 car is necessary. We can certainly recommend this place.

It is a wonderful place next to a River. I really enjoyed my stay. Marianela was a great host. She even went shopping with me on my first day because I had no car. The property is located off any Traffic noise… but since it is quite close to the airport you hear the airplanes starting around 4:30 am. The hot tub only gets to 35 degrees C and takes a while to get warm . But it was still nice to relax in the horrible. I would come back!

A must stay. Million dollar view. I was so surprised.

I stayed for one month. I was working from the home and really appreciated the view from the balcony as I did- it is phenomenal. Iguanas and birds were easily observable. There is both a restaurant and a . small soda right down the street. As a solo traveler, Milagro treated me as family and always made sure I was ok and taken care of. She was very available for conversation, help and recommendations. I was there without a car so I very much appreciated her willingness to take me to the store. The beds are comfortable and the kitchen well-appointed. It is a nice size place that has everything you need. The pool was fantastic, especially under the stars. Be aware that, as is common for the rural areas here, the noise of cattle, roosters and dogs is very present even through the night. You will find earplugs and a white noise soundtrack helpful for that. Pura Vida!

They have created a place of lasting beauty in an inactive volcano area where the weather is not too warm with refreshing winds. We found that A/C is not needed here. Unique and perfectly maintained elements: separate guest home for ultimate privacy, salt water pool with dedicated swimming lane, open air screened kitchen and dining with Napoleon Bbq and induction cooktop, cricket ball court, forest trails of varying challenge, super comfy seating everywhere, PLUS full daily breakfast with fresh organic eggs, mixed fresh cut fruit+++, fresh juice, and a choice of perfectly prepared French toast, blueberry pancakes or crepes - yes - freshly prepared crepes!!

The place is beautiful, the kitchen with everything you need a beautiful terrace as well as the pool. They were all very friendly, we would definitely come back.

This was my 2nd stay with Silvio’s family. Their home is a private oasis in the middle of Santa Elana and 5 minutes from Monteverde. Johaness was extremely helpful whenever I had any questions. I would give them 6 stars if I could!

Dani was a wonderful host! He communicated well with us since the beginning of the trip. I definitely recommend to anyone wanting to stay near San Jose Costa Rica to stay at Dani’s Airbnb. One of the best airbnbs I have stayed at. Will definitely come back again!

My stay on this Airbnb was perfect. The place was spotless, with all necessary amenities and an ideal location. Communication with Jose was excellent; he was always quick to respond to any inquiries. I would definitely recommend this place and hope to return soon.

La Casita is a peaceful retreat in beautiful surroundings. Everyday we got to see the mountains in different appearances in different weathers, right from the comfort of home. The house is equipped with everything you need for a long stay: living space, fully equipped kitchen and dining space, bed with blankets and pillows, wardrobe, TV, private attached bathroom with hot shower as well as washer and dryer, car parking, good WiFi. The patio is nice for chilling, eating or even working, with the views of the lush greenery and sounds of birds. Nancy is a very nice host, friendly, welcoming and kind, always willing to help and always available whenever we needed something. She is a lovely person who felt like family. We would love to return to this place someday.

We had a wonderful stay for four days in this lovely cabin which looks exactly as on the pictures. It is located in the middle of nature and you can hear the howling monkeys in the morning and evening hours. The kitchen is great for cooking. We loved everything about this place, especially the friendly host family who is super caring.
