I.K.Homestay

Ikheshe's place, I K Guest House is a pleasant surprise. It is definitely one of the best accommodation options that one could wish for in the beautiful city of Kohima. The hosts are amazing people and go out of their way to make you feel at home. They are more than eager to help you with local tips etc. The breakfast is great and so is the home cooked food available for dinner. The menu includes a wide array of local Naga delicacies, offered for a very reasonable additional cost. More than anything else, the warmth and hospitality of the guests are outstanding. The property is very well maintained. The rooms and attached bathrooms are sparkling clean and the beds are neat, clean and comfortable. The rooms are equipped with room heaters and the bathrooms with geysers for hot water. The property also offers sweeping views of the valley and the hilltop houses, especially the view at sundown from the wide open terrace adjacent to the rooms. Overall, wonderful hosts and a great place to stay in Kohima. Highly recommended!

Enjoy a serenity on the hills of Kigwema village

Staying with Stany and his family during the Hornbill Festival 2024 was an incredible experience! They were warm, friendly, and ensured everything went smoothly. Stany arranged all our transport and transfers with his excellent local connections and even helped us find trek guides and explore offbeat recommendations. The venue is perfectly located, just a walkable distance from the festival grounds, making it super convenient. Their home-cooked dinners were the best! Despite the festival rush, they managed to accommodate everyone, including those staying in tents. I’d highly recommend staying here for an authentic and hassle-free experience in Nagaland!

This place is a hidden gem in more ways than one. The host was extremely gracious and very very helpful. He organized the transport for the trek, and gave us tips to stay the night on top. The room was neat with basic amenities required, and a lovely garden to stroll outside. The food was tasty, nourishing and abundant! Even the host's family was lovely to interact with. The cherry on the cake was a delightful little pup called Jessie who simply made my day!

Extremely happy with the stay. Tranquil and picturesque surroundings. Very much happy with the hospitality of Visa and his sister. They made the stay so easy going as if We were at home. They made the stay very comfortable. If you love to do morning walk then this place is for you. One can walk the surrounding villages looking for new experiences. Even the people in the surrounding villages are also quite helpful. Overall high five and 5* rating.👍

Dawn homestay, a simple house to live in.

DouglasRating, 5 stars3 days ago
If plush mattresses, uninterrupted electricity or heated rooms are important, continue searching. If you value genuine village hospitality, with a view into Naga family life - and the chance to participate in and learn about it - then this place is simply the best. The host family is graciously welcoming, friendly and helpful. I felt truly cared for and extended my stay because it was so comfortable and fun. Dinners by the fire, breakfast in the sunny garden, lively conversation with the hosts and other guests; healthy, fresh local cuisine; easily arranged outings to nearby sites. Even the pets are friendly and engaging, definitely part of the scene. Just bring warm clothes -including nightwear- during the chilly months (eg, January). I highly recommend Dawn Homestay and very much hope to return someday.
