The Smithy is a wonderful country retreat. This family home has been restored beautifully and has that home -from-home feel as soon as you arrive. We were welcomed not only with a fully-equipped clean and all mod cons place to stay but also a cottage thoughtfully decorated for Christmas by Rhona. It was therefore the perfect destination for us as we visited our family during this festive season. I would definitely recommend this home stay and I do hope we get another chance to stay here. A beautiful well equipped cottage with private garden Peaceful, quiet place to be home from home. But easy to get to other towns and beaches by car or train. Suggest train for central Edinburgh as the parking is very expensive. There is plenty to do in Edinburgh from restaurants, cafe, shopping, walks, museums, boat trips, beaches & horse riding to say a few! And great for history and Harry Potter fans Had an 8 month old who was equally at home The log fire was an extra special touch Would definitely come back and recommend Thank you ❤️

It was an easy and friendly process booking the property, and the pictures exactly match what you see. The house is warm and sheltered from the adverse weather at the time. The garden is simple and secure if you have a dog. Everything you need for a great holiday is there, it feels very homely and comfortable. We had an issue, and it was dealt with quickly and efficiently. Locally you have easy access , to the bridge to nowhere and the John Muir country park, and its beaches, but take note of the tides. The are other ways back if the tides comes in, just a little longer. You can walk into Dunbar along the cliff tops and the golf course starting from near the bridge. It’s a great area, and Dunbar is certainly worth a wander round. We would certainly use the house again when in the area.

The annexe at Whitberry Farm is an idyllic oasis for anyone in search of breathtaking nature at a stone’s throw from the comfort of a perfectly appointed cottage. For those who would wish to spend their days outdoors in forest and sand as well as those who may only venture for short walks at interval and otherwise languish in a gorgeous tub or a leisurely read on the stone enclosed patio: this place is perfect. Our hosts were generous, attentive and offered both privacy and hospitality in balance. We had an easy orientation and access to everything one seeks on a relaxing coastal getaway. Highly recommend.
