I have so many great things to say, so to keep it short I'll bullet point. - Great location/community - Private - Friendly and responsive hosts - Clear instructions and tour - Clean and comfortable - Felt very welcomed - Also a bonus of a cat that sounds like a sheep :) Planning to go again, later this year. Would highly recommend

I had a wonderful stay. There has been some storm damage to the hut I was due to stay in so Linda called me and let me know she had plenty of other options and put me in a wonderful alternative hut. The hut was spotless, warm (with enough wood to keep me warm all weekend) and cosy. Linda was very friendly and responsive. Moonfleet is a beautiful place to spend some time away from normal life and feel in the country side. I can’t wait to go back!

We didn't want to return home as we had had the perfect stay. This lovely little shepherd's hut surrounded by beautiful farmlands, was just what we'd hoped for and it didn't disappoint! Our hosts Peter and Rachel, were very responsive to our needs, although, gave us our privacy and let us explore the surrounding areas. The hut had lots of little touches to it that made it feel homely and cute, although, functional and great use of a small space. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the hut had heating, wifi and a range of options on the tv after a tiring day of adventures! Excellent stay, would absolutely return, thank you! We had a gorgeous stay at the shepherds hut. Fiona greeted us on arrival, was very friendly and helpful showing us how to use the hot tub. The hut itself is lovely and perfect for a cozy retreat. We had such a relaxed time and are already looking forward to returning. Thank you so much Fiona for your kindness and our beautiful stay!

Last minute Valentine get away with our two dogs. Despite pretty grim weather, you couldn't have wished to be anywhere cosier. Surprisingly spacious and everything you could think of, provided for a weekend away. Basic breakfast foods provided and of course Juliet's famous delicious short bread and doggie welcome treats.Private garden space adjoining a wood and secure field. Dogs roamed and played freely and safety. Bring lots of dog towels if you expect rain. Lovely shower in the cabin. Very well designed compost in a separate cabin. We kept close for dog exercise but there seems plenty of options for walking.. especially to pub...It's between 40 to 50 minute walk away. So many birds. We had a great stay, was relaxing and a great location for walks, sightseeing etc. Mandy and Andy both very friendly and helpful. Would recommend booking ahead for any local pubs/restaurants as they are few and far between within a 10-20 min drive and busy at weekends/peak times, also bring a 12v charger for charging within the hut otherwise there are 3 point plugs 100m across the yard which can be used.

Thankfully we bumped into Sally’s neighbour who walked us to the site. ( we ended up becoming friends with them!) The accommodation wasn’t very clean, but it was well stacked with everything we needed and more. Beds and pillows were terrifically comfortable. Bath was heaven, evenings and mornings were paradise. Loved eating al fresco and the site contained everything to make us relax. A special thanks for bread, REAL coffee! Eggs, butter and milk! We loved it and would love to return. Just more attention required to housekeeping!

Perfect location for exploring Shaldon and Teignmouth, the hut was cosy but had everything you needed, toilets and showers were seconds away and were v. clean, would say the bed was a bit hard but all in all was very happy with my stay and would recommend!

A great place to stay and explore Dartmoor. The views from the hut are amazing and the hut itself is a fun experience. Simon is a delightful host and always quick to help out - Thanks for a fantastic stay!

I booked this place as a birthday treat outing for my special one. I love this place so muchhh, we played with chickens, their pets gave us hugs😃! A dreamy place, we did a lot just in one day stay. We did book hot tub, which is worth every penny 💎👌🏽! We don’t drive, we reached their easily via public transport on weekend days, their place got good transport connections! We had the perfect stay at Anne’s. The shepherds hut is beautiful and has everything you would need to make the perfect romantic getaway. We enjoyed the log burner and hot tub both nights. The shepherds hut is located about a hour walk from Chew Magna which has lots of lovely restaurants ( the lazy lobster is a must) and pubs. This is a great getaway for those looking for some peace and quiet amongst the stars.

We recently stayed at Andreas Shepherd's Hut in Cruxton, and it was a delightful experience. Nestled in a serene rural setting, the hut offers an idyllic escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The accommodation was charmingly rustic yet comfortably modern and the interior was well-appointed with thoughtful touches that made it feel cosy and welcoming. The bed was really comfortable and the small kitchenette was equipped with everything needed for a self-catering stay which we made the most of both mornings and evenings. The hut's location was perfect. Surrounded by apple trees and rolling hills, it's ideal for leisurely walks, relaxing outside with the fire pit or enjoying the private space alongside the river. The lack of light pollution in the area allowed us to view the Milky Way when stargazing one evening which was the perfect addition to our stay. Andrea was super accommodating, ensuring that everything was in order and even dropped off a homemade Dorset apple cake!

We really loved our stay! Very peaceful and private - the perfect escape. The wood fire was great and heated the hut up immediately. The hot tub was bliss with amazing views. Fully functional kitchen with everything you need - the bacon, eggs, bread, milk and butter was a lovely gesture. The bathroom was modern with a lovely overhead shower (soap and shampoo provided). Very comfortable night sleep and will definitely be returning! Thank you so much.

We spent a fabulous two nights at "Lucy ". The hot tub was great, we were lucky to have one clear night to star gaze. The area is fantastic with the York Inn a short walk away with lovely food. the hut had everything we needed, super cosy . We nearly finished the jigsaw!

Tanya was super helpful and we really enjoyed our stay. Highly recommended!

We had a lovely couple of nights in Herdwick hut at Laverstock farm. The farm is gorgeous and we enjoyed walking around it seeing the animals, particularly the pygmy goats, and even had a couple of games of table tennis in the games room. The area around the hut is very private and peaceful, although you could hear some chatter from the cottages above at times. The hut itself is really pretty and cosy and we loved being greeted by the cows in the adjacent field. The separate kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed evenings by the fire pit, with the added bonus of marshmallows left by the host! One thing to mention is that the shared washroom is a walk away, up by the cottages, but it was clean and offered products and towels. A relaxing and lovely stay.

Me and my partner wanted a weekend away to relax and not have an expectation to get up to too much. We couldn’t have picked a better place to stay, Clive was incredibly detailed and responsive in his messages. Great detail was given for how to get there as well as providing an online booklet detailing manuals for hot-tub, oven, wood burner as well as local places to eat, to walk and also bits about the animals at the location. We stayed for three nights and the first night was spent in awe of the view and peace it offered. As well as the hot-tub on the mild February night. Day two was bright and warmer and Clive and Nikki let us join them for feeding their goats in the field. After that we spent a lot of time on the bench at the river reading, followed by a BBQ as the weather was dry. Day three was a washout but even so the lodge is lovely and cosy so we didn’t mind. Just listening to the weather than the river rumbling was peaceful in itself. We would love to return in the summer.

Chloe was an amazing host, giving easy to follow instructions and greeted us on arrival - even pre-heating the hot tub for us! The Shepard's hut itself is so lovely and it's clear Chloe has put a lot of effort into making this space special. The bed was super comfortable, the hut has everything we needed and was immaculate - Chloe even provided us with some bits for breakfast, which we didn't expect! The log burner keeps you nice and cosy throughout the night and coming back to the hot tub after a day out exploring to stare gaze can't be beaten! (Especially when Chloe pre-heated ours without us even needing to ask). The location is great, being around a 15 minute drive to Glastonbury but being just out into the sticks enough for some peace and quiet at night. We will definitely look to stay here again if we are back down this way, we loved every minute and didn't want to leave!

This shepherds hut must be the best in the South West! Lou is a fab host, so friendly and accommodating. The hut itself is even more stunning than the pictures - it has been so cleverly designed and decorated. It felt like a really luxury stay, with dressing gowns, lovely quality bedding and overall great facilities. The hot tub is glorious, with the candles and lights making it even prettier. The surrounding area is very picturesque and we would definitely return. Thank you Lou!

Perfect little stay, Andrew was very helpful in the communications. Place was exactly as described. The outdoor bath was amazing, and when we left the gate open, we enjoyed the roaming chickens! Even a nice little touch with a Valentines day game upon arrival, would definitely recommend.

Our stay was absolutely wonderful. The shepherds hut was great, especially with all the added extras of the hot tub and pizza oven (highly recommend getting the pizza hamper). The attention to detail throughout the place is so lovely and made the stay even better. Would definitely recommend to everyone and will stay again!

Really lovely place to stay. Very peaceful and private with nature right on our doorstep. Madeleine was very responsive and replied really quickly to any queries. The shepherds hut was really clean and had everything we needed. The only thing to note is that the oven took a long time to cook food. Apart from that the shepherds hut is a perfect place to go if you’re looking for somewhere private and peaceful. The hut was really cosy and the log burner made the hut really warm and cosy. There is no signal at the hut but it didn’t bother us as it was really nice to not be on our phones and enjoy the hut and surroundings. I would definitely recommend staying here and would come again x

Where to start!! Jayne was an amazing host. From the moment you arrive at the blue hut, to leaving. You felt completely relaxed and happy. Jayne had left some bubbles, marshmallows and biscuits to make s’mores which was 10/10. My boyfriend and I loved the stay! All the amenities you could ask for from the hot tub to the bbq, farm shop down the road and the amazing views. The bed was so comfortable and the shower/ bathroom was spotless! We would both really recommend Jayne and the stay at the blue hut! Thank you Jayne!

We needed a short, peaceful break after a busy few months of renovating our first house and this provided just that! Highlights: log burner, delicious bread & eggs left for us on arrival, beautiful views across the fields in the morning. Thanks Caroline - we'll be back!
