Holiday rentals with a fire pit in South India

Colin and his folks made us feel right at home. The place was great with greenery all around and a river front. Had great views from the property itself. It's really close to the beach as well (Thannirbavi), which was clean and well managed, without the crowd. Getting to the city was easy and within 15 minutes we were able to reach most places. Colin also offers a nice boat ride as well as Kayaking facility. I recommend folks to make the most of it.

We rented the private hut space in the property and I must say, we felt home instantly! The Hut was so cozy and welcoming and it was exactly and more than what we expected. I wished that the ceiling of the first floor was even higher as we had to crawl every time we had to move. however, we got used to that too quite soon as it brought us all more together. We were allowed access to the common areas of the property. It is extremely well-maintained and it's heaven to be there. The kitchen had everything we needed and it's great we could cook ourselves, make ourselves some tea. Vignesh was a very kind and generous host. He showed us the other rooms which I'm looking forward to booking the next time I'm in Auroville. if you're looking for a place that's away from all the noise, amongst nature, economical, functional and feels at home, this is the place.

The host and the manager welcomed us properly. The host gave us early check-in which helped us a lot. The food from the local kitchen (home made food) is of little expensive but the taste if by far the best in the town. I would surely come and stay for sure and will recommend the villa.

We had an amazing 2-day stay at Manalasu Villa, Kodaikanal with family, including my 9-month-old son. The villa was peaceful, and the caretaker was very friendly. The food they prepared was delicious, and we loved the bonfire and barbecue in the lawn. The owner was incredibly kind and ensured our forgotten belongings were safely delivered to us in Chennai. Overall, it was a comfortable and memorable experience. Highly recommend for a peaceful getaway!

We had a nice stay with my family. The place is very comfortable stay and the host is quick to respond. The gym is excellent and there is a resident exercise physiologist on hand too. For a small fee they can also set up and help you follow a routing. This worked really well for my father, he was at the gym everyday. There is also a really nice view. The pool was kept very clean and we used it nearly everyday. The kitchen is fully equipped with excellent non-stick (healthy non-stick with no PIFA as I have at home) so we really liked this. There are a few excellent restaurants close by, great food, walking is possible but it really depends on you, but the roads to it may not be for everyone. But certainly excellent dining options. You can always order food to the apartment and it is very easy for delivery folks to find the place, so no issue there. Normally we stay in Colombo but this time we couldn't find a nice place, but this space turned out to be fantastic and served us well.

Wonderful place. Mathew was the best host I've gotten on Airbnb till date. He even arranged bonfire, bbq and food for us on new year's eve. You can get homely food here at a very reasonable cost.

This apartment was beautiful. We had a very nice week at this apartment. It was very comfortable. We also enjoyed the swimming pool very much. Everything was perfect. We highly recommend it.

This place is a nice homestay. The rooms were clean, the beds very comfortable and our landlord was a very nice lady. We had a very good breakfast in her dining room and this is an experience that you will not get at a normal hotel. Thank you Cecilia Cottage for the hospitality and also for the nice and interesting conversations we had.

Mr.&Mrs Manikandan was a friendly host. Their place was pleasant and peaceful. Would definitely visit again. I would personally recommend their place for people who like the sound of insects and birds. And their pets mojo and jojo was so friendly and cute. They provide home cooked breakfast which felt like a home.

We were gutted that we had only booked one night here! Definitely one of our favourite stays in Sri Lanka - an absolute hidden gem! We were completely wowed as soon as we arrived, such gorgeous surroundings and each pod was so clean and comfortable with amazing spacious bathrooms! The staff were helpful and attentive and we were able to easily organise transport to the safari and Lion Rock. The breakfasts were tasty and you get a lot for your money!

We absolutely loved the place. It's such a cozy place and not to mention the view from our room. We could see the sunset, it's so beautiful. The place is on a farm with such adorable friendly animals. The host and his family were so friendly and helpful. It's only 12 kms from the city and the drive is very nice. I would definitely visit again and definitely recommend this place!

Absolutely one of my most memorable, unique and beautiful stays. Senthil and his family are incredible, hospitable, friendly and knowledgeable. Outstanding job in building this place deep inside a serene forest. The amenities, the quality of furniture and the cabin are top notch. Can’t believe that this was made possible with no good access inside the forest. Can’t wait to be back. Oh and the food…. Delicious

Peaceful, Clean, Simple, Clutter free, Homely Waking up to birds in the morning and going to bed after looking at the starry sky has been an experience that will stay with us for a really long time. Soochipara waterfall is really close and so are some of the entertainment spots. In house kitchen is outstanding, we really enjoyed food, hospitality and the fast service. Mr Ansar does his job perfectly and knows about the local spots which is really helpful in planning the day.
