We had the most relaxing and cosy Christmas break in Ann's lovely log cabin. Ann was very thoughtful and had decorated a Christmas tree and had even left foil baking trays for us to cook the Christmas dinner.The cabin was warm and spacious and had everything we needed, from lovely big sofas, a well equipped kitchen, very comfortable beds, lovely clean bathrooms and my favourite...fresh air and green views from the balcony. Ann was most helpful and answered the few questions I asked, very promptly. We all had the most chilled and memorable Christmas. Thank you Ann.

As others have said, Fern Lodge is a fantastic place to stay when visiting the area and Kate & Robert are lovely welcoming hosts! Fern Lodge is essentially a perfect little private studio apartment, beautifully decorated with many of Kate's atmospheric paintings and set within the peaceful grounds of Kate & Roberts home. We loved sitting in the lounge with a coffee watching all the different birds swoop down to eat at the bird feeders and were very grateful to receive a loaf of freshly baked bread from Robert on our arrival. Will definitely stay again anytime we're back in the area!

I can't thank Hayley enough for hosting the most beautiful holiday in the most wonderful home. The location of the idyllic cottage 'The Stables' is truly perfect. Hayley responded so quickly to everything I could have needed, so helpful and guinuinly kind! I loved my home for the week, it had absolutely everything I needed for a cosy and adventurous trip for myself and my hound. I really cannot wait to come back. Love this area, love the cosy fire, bed was so comfortable, home was light and spacious, love everything, only wish I could stay and live there forever! My favourite recommendations for those reading this! Head south to the sandy Southerness beach and watch the sun rise, West to Rockcliffe for the stunning Coastal paths and The Dalbeattie forest, North for Wanklockhead, through the incredible Mennoch Way, and stop in the friendly village pub. excellent situation, lots of good recommendations. Hilary was flexible and generous when we needed to change travel plans at short notice due to the weather. The property is very dog friendly, in a lovely quiet location and the welcome package is lovely. Highly recommend.
