Back again! It’s a great place with incredible views out to the Barriers. Simple but stylish with plenty of tools in the kitchen to knock up a great feed, and, the best slumber with the comfiest of beds. I reckon we’ll be back!

Clean and tidy and Ernie was kind enough to allow us to check in early to freshen up and change before our son's wedding at 2:30 at a venue nearby. 3 of us and only stayed 1 night. Very peaceful setting close to the village. Would gladly stay here again.

Beautiful spot in Mangawhai, views from the kitchen and lounge areas are amazing. The home was spotless and is the perfect venue for exploring everything that Mangawhai has to offer. Great value for money and I would definitely recommend.

Great location close to the beach. But also a great place to hang around and relax with family and friends. The backyard has a lovely garden and plenty of room for the kids to run around, and the house is well equipped with just about everything you need. Would love to come back and stay again sometime. thanks!

We spent a night at Merrill’s place on our road trip. The place was very easy to find just off the main road north. Merrill met us at check in a showed us around the house. We were given breakfast provisions for the next morning which was very nice and also some local fruit to try. The property has 2 bedrooms and a combined living room and kitchen with everything you need. The Ruakaka beach is beautiful just about 15 min walk or 3 min drive away. We would stay again.

I cannot say enough about how beautiful Gill's home is. The surroundings are so beautiful, short drive into town where you can find everything your looking for. Gill is such a wonderful and kind host, if you have a chance to visit her home, you will not be disappointed. Thank you for making my son's wedding so special, so lucky to have met such a amazing woman.

We loved Nuku Cabin, Diane and Anthony were lovely and friendly and I think My hubby could have chatted to Anthony all day. They seemed to have thought of everything and it was very well organised and easy to find what you needed. The cabin was exactly as described and there was plenty of space for us to spread out and relax. The weather was extremely wet so it was great to have so much space. We thought we might have been able to hear the highway more but once the door was shut we couldn’t hear anything. We can thoroughly recommend Nuku Cabin.

This was a beautiful spacious apartment (part of a big house but separate and self-contained) with access to a swimming pool and garden. Two bedrooms suited us well and it was like being in a private wing. Very comfy beds, stunning views and a great location for Ruakaka sandy beach and to pop into Whangarei. Pleasant hosts who communicated well. We found it hard to leave!

This is very nice place to stay. A quiet area with some good walks. My situation was a little different as I wasn't on holiday and wanted somewhere quiet and reasonably close to the hospital where I was visiting my husband each day. The property is off the road and there are auto gates. As I was on my own this made me feel very safe - on top of which Genevieve was in the main house a lot of the day. It was comfortable and cosy (given my stay was during the winter) and Genevieve and her husband went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable. Thoroughly recommend and if I ever need to be in Whangarei for any length of time I hope I can use this accommodation again.

Amazing stay! The property was spacious, clean, and had everything we needed for a comfortable staycation. The pool and spa were a fantastic combination, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind. The location was excellent—close to everything and across the road from the Saturday markets. The hosts were great, and responsive to our questions. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely book again!

Such a wonderful little place! The host was amazing and super friendly and responsive, she even went the extra mile to leave us some goodies for our anniversary. The fresh grape vines were a wonderful little surpirse. I would happily stay here again if we were in the area :)

Beautiful modern cottage with fabulous views. Well equipped and the deck was great for relaxing. Colin was very welcoming in Karen's absence.

We loved our stay here and would highly recommend to anyone visiting Mangawhai. The house was spotless and spacious with a beautiful big garden and Katy was extremely helpful and responsive over message, including setting up a portacot in one of the rooms for us. Another highlight was the location, and we really enjoyed taking the path leading from property to walk along the estuary to the tavern for dinner. Really enjoyed it and would love to stay here again in future.

Anette and Robert were gracious hosts. Kept us informed of any changes, suggested locations to visit, and reset the TV when we messed it up!! Beautiful beaches in walking distance. People were very nice. And beautiful sweet kittys..

We loved our stay. Lovely rural outlook and easy walk or drive to both Langs beach and Waipu Cove. The space is well set up and Chris was very helpful.

Wicked location right on the beach, simple and cozy accommodation, nothing eles matters when you stay here. Pure relaxation and fun. Took kids and dog. We went swimming, fishing off the rocks and kayaking. Local shop only round the corner. We have already booked our next stay!

It was my first family holiday since 2017. The AirBnB was a new experience for me, but the hosts were respectful and their place was wonderful! I was able to bring our 2 x dogs which was great and I took them for a walk every morning, greeting others with their dogs on the way. My adult children loved being able to hang out at the beach and sit in the hot tub or use the kayaks on offer. My husband unfortunately worked every day but was able to enjoy to peace and quiet at night. Having a washing machine was practical and saved my workload when we returned home. We visited Charlies Gelato which was yum and I was able to purchase some beautiful wine from Brick Bay vineyard. Matakana was disappointing it felt like Auckland with long lines of traffic and expensive products however, the lady at Honest Chocolate was lovely. We fished off Scotts Landing and caught 5 legal snapper. All in all, I would highly recommend this AirBnB, absolutely the best holiday in a very long time. Thank you.
