Holiday rentals with a fireplace in Queenstown

Despite pouring rain(!), we had a relaxing time here. The house was large and very clean with a practical setup and good kitchen amenities. And the view over the water was lovely. The location is very quiet, as it's down from the road, on a property leading down the water. But it's still only a short drive to the main town which was handy for an early start on the river cruise. The living room heating was on when we arrived and the wood-fire kept us warm through the cold weather. The only improvement would be some heating in the bedrooms which were chilly. Wisam was incredibly responsive. Others have mentioned the driveway and we were warned before we arrived that it was too steep to attempt without 4WD. That is definitely the case. If we had not had the 4WD we would have been moving things in and out of the car from the street in heavy rain, so not ideal. Thanks for a lovely stay

This place is why you come to Strathan. The view and home is perfect. Comfy bed, peaceful, we had rain showers but that just added to the calming nature of this property. Magical double rainbows, sunsets and sunrises. We only left to purchase food to cook for ourselves.

We stayed a week with our large dog and were really comfortable - great undercover areas front and back where we could work on our bikes, and the shed was secure too. Inside it was cosy - choice of heat pump or wood heater; we had a lot of rain and I noticed there was no condensation overnight. Good size appliances, and thoughtful range of emergency pantry items in case people arrive after the shops shut. We were so appreciative of being able to stay with our dog too. The yard is not fenced how ever the verandah can be closed in with a gate if you have a small/non-escapalogist dog. So much to do and see - we came for the riding (motor and mountain bike) and were blown away. We also just loved exploring with our dog too, Paragon Theatre was great. Some good options for eating out too. So hope to be back.

It was like being transported into an entire experience, like on the set of a movie where you can disconnect and immerse yourself. Great attention to detail with the decor, even a playlist to sit and enjoy enhanced the experience. Adorable ducks to feed were a highlight and scrumptious welcome platter of divine desserts. Super friendly and responsive hosts. Highly recommend for a unique and enjoyable stay.

Very clean and well thought out. We loved the fireplace and thank you for having a portacot and high chair available for us. Lovely creek out the back. Close to mountain bike trails and the centre of town. Thanks again for a great stay.

Nice little cottage close to Strahan, but away from the crowds. Most of the other cottages were empty so felt like we had the place to ourselves (other than the ducks!!). Place has all you need for a couple of days escape. Jay and Kate were very responsive when needed to get in contact. Beautiful view out on the water.
