The Catlins was an area that we wished to explore as it is described in many publications as beautiful and peaceful. On arrival at Skylark we could not see the property from the main road due to low cloud / mist, however as we started to settle in the view appeared and what a view. At that point we knew we had chosen well. The accommodation itself is superb, beautifully decorated and fitted with quality furnishings throughout, we were provided with a great selection of breakfast products including some home made natural yoghurt. We took up the opportunity to accompany Karl pre breakfast experiencing his moving of sheep between areas, to see him and his dogs move over 1000 sheep with ease was an experience we will not forget. He then took us to some of the far reaching locations on the farm to enjoy some spectacular views. Taking into account the location, the property, the owners and not forgetting the views this must be one of the best stays we have enjoyed on our travels.

Excellent cabin for a stay whilst traversing the Catlins. Quiet and comfortable. All amenities needed for self-catering. Wi-Fi and Smart TV so can stay connected to the wider world if indeed one wants to in such a scenic area.

The perfect place for quiet relaxation. The only sounds were the crashing waves on the rocks. The home was beautifully prepared and super comfortable. Plenty of heating available too. I would recommend this place to stay for the views and comfort. The sunrises were amazing. The sunrises were amazing For a relaxing holiday with plenty of bush walks and beaches close by this location is hard to beat.
