Beachfront holiday rental in Playa El Coco

We had a very nice stay at Casa Pocahontas and felt right at home. The house is decorated with a lot of love and is located about 10-15 minutes walk from Playa Maderas. We spent a lot of time in the open living area with the huge terrace. A great place to relax, read a book or watch the wildlife in the jungle. The kitchen, bathroom and bedroom were well equipped. There was even a yoga mat and blackrolls. If we had any questions, Sebastian was always available and due to the keybox the check in/out was very flexible and uncomplicated. We can only recommend the Casa and would definitely come back again.

Very walkable to anywhere in SJDS. Brand new stainless steel range and fridge in the kitchen a big plus, along with ice cold AC and smart TV with all the apps loaded.

Everything met our expectations and was as described. Maria was very responsive, she e.g. arranged a transfer from the airport for us.

Bella’s place was absolutely beautiful — we stayed for a week and felt right at home. The location is perfect, just a short walk from Beginner’s Bay, an ideal spot for surfing, and conveniently next door to The Salty Koala, a cozy and welcoming restaurant where we ended up grabbing late-night bites more than once. The space itself is stylish, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. A special shoutout to Petrona who had a contagious smile and was super helpful with upkeep during our stay. We’re already looking forward to booking again next year! One thing to note for remote workers: the Wi-Fi can be a bit spotty at times and there were a few short power cuts during our stay. It didn’t impact our vacation, but something to keep in mind if you need a super reliable connection. Otherwise, it’s an A+++ stay.

Lesbia was wonderful to communicate with. Her gardens are lovely to walk around. We had local organic fruits and coffee served by Lesbia. The spot is idyllic in so many ways. The space of the cabin was large, patio to enjoy the evening reading in the hammocks, seating near the water for cocktails and sunset, kayaking and swimming. Dogs and horses came to to visit too. We will definitely return.

Had the most wonderful time at Jean and Coco’s beautiful Airbnb! It’s a luxurious stay that still maintains the vibe of this beautiful country. The property manager on site helped us with everything we needed and answered any questions we had. You’re so close to the beach which felt like a private oasis! If you’re thinking of staying in the area you should definitely book this Airbnb!!

Freek was an amazing host. He helped us understand the surf breaks, helped tell us where to rent vehicles, and also helped with restaurants. He was great. The staff in the Amahula resort were awesome too! This house is beautiful and the pool makes the trip 10x better. There is amazing privacy inside and outside of this house. With a nice living space inside as well as a great patio and pool outside…and outdoor showers. And right next to it you can go to the bar to hang out! Right out front is the beach. Amazing surf breaks within walking distance. Nothing short of awesome, we hope to be back!

The house is amazing, you have access to the beach right in front of you, only recommendation for anybody is to bring your own food from a local supermarket as there is an hour drive off road(4x4 recommended) after reaching san juan, the place is very private, you have the beach for yourself, the house is very clean, enough rooms, and spacious. Local housekeeper was very useful as he can go buy you items at extra cost while you enjoy your time, final score 10/10.

Helen and Lee are fantastic hosts. Their apartment was exactly as described and the images bang on. Messaging Helen and Lee was an absolute breeze. We never had to wait for a response which is great when you don't have roaming cell service and wifi can be limited outside the apartment. The apartment itself was very comfortable and really clean and had everything we needed. The grounds and pool were beautiful and very well kept. I would absolutely stay there again. It was lovely staying at Mary Jane’s home in SJDS. It was our first time in the town, and luckily we were there during Semana Santa (week leading up to Easter) and we love to partake in the nightlife scene! There was tons to do and the Nicas definitely know how to have a good time. It was great that the home was in the heart of town yet it was quiet and secluded in its own way. The pool was refreshing and fun, especially after a hot day. The nearby restaurant Dale Pues quickly became our go-to, with its delicious food and low prices. Mary Jane was very helpful in setting up transportation, excursions, and restaurant recommendations. We loved going to Ometepe and Playa Hermosa. Thanks Mary Jane!!

Really beautiful place. Worth what you pay, and not too far to town. Only thing is there’s no drinking water supplied, which personally for the price and such a steep walk- there should be. Otherwise absolutely amazing!

Daniel’s place was stunning. The location was private yet accessible by car to Rancho Santana’s Club House & beaches. The kitchen was well equipped and the bedrooms were comfy with more than enough linens. We had plenty of space for our family of 4. The house was tastefully decorated. Tom, the house manager was very responsive & helpful when dealing with a few minor issues we encountered. The views were spectacular and we would gladly recommend Daniel’s place to others guests.

If you are looking for a private oceanfront accommodation, I recommend this place. It is quiet, spacious, and has a comfortable atmosphere. The ocean is within walking distance, and you can use the resort's facilities, such as restaurants! If you are looking for the most beautiful beach in Nicaragua, I recommend this place.

Beautiful location and view! Dominic was very friendly and gave us so many good recommendations. The place was very cute and clean and had everything we needed to have a comfortable and fun stay! We definitely recommend to anyone who wants to surf Santana’s to stay here because it’s about a 10 minute walk and so fun! We appreciated the awesome hospitality and look forward to returning in years to come.

This place is absolutely wonderful! Situated just across the river from the main area of San Juan del Sur, it offers the perfect balance—close enough to walk to restaurants and bars, yet far enough to enjoy peace and quiet away from the weekend festivities. The river is easy to walk across at any time of the day, making access to town simple and convenient. Ronaldo, who lives on the property with his family, was incredibly helpful throughout our stay. Although we used Google Translate to communicate, he was always quick to assist whenever we needed anything. The house is just a two-minute walk from the beach and features a beautiful outdoor space, perfect for relaxing at home. Highly recommend!

We loved the apartment, especially the terrace with views and sunsets. The apartment is 10 mins walking distance from the beach. Luckily the taxi knew the location. If you arrive on your own, make sure you arrive clearly.

This place is heaven! The house is beautiful and the patio is incredible. On the beach with a patio offering bbq, hamac, direct access to pool and access to the beach. They even had a kids table and toys. Master bedroom is just Wow, with view to the ocean. Kids loved the bunk beds. Hot water and a/c. Close town, we would definitely come back!

I felt very comfortable in the Salitre. I was even allowed to put my belongings in the fridge before checking in. The house is spacious, well furnished and has everything you need. It is only a 2-minute walk to the beach. I thought it was great that I was able to bring my small dog easily. The managers take care of them warmly. Overall, I felt very comfortable in the house. I'd love to come back to Salitre...

Carolina’s beach home is in the most beautiful spot, and was such a perfect beach escape for our family. The beach is stunning and most of the time it felt like we had it to ourselves. It was so nice to have the option to walk to the hotel for dinner, which was amazing. We never felt too hot since there is amazing shade around the house and gazebo, perfect for kids. Carolina was the most attentive and hospitable host you could imagine! Thank you so much Carolina, we hope to come back again one day !

This house is perfectly nestled just a short 3 minute walk to the beach where you can surf, eat etc and super spacious. There is no a/c so you will be warm but there’s fans. There is a surf cafe across the driveway which is convenient. Note: things close early! Unfortunately our first night we went to get dinner at 8pm and everything was closed. There is a hotel in a very steep dirt road (very dark) but it only takes about 10 mins and they are open til 9pm for dinner. Overall - a perfect location, it’s quite remote so come prepared with lots of cash as there are no ATMs or ways to pay with a card, unless you get the shuttle to town 20 mins away. Will be back for sure!
