Family-friendly holiday rentals in Playa Chiquita

I don’t even know where to begin; I’m so in love 🩷 Mercedes is a 100/100 host! Her apartment is stunning! It is spacious, immaculately clean and located near the most delicious restaurants with only a 5 minute walk to the beautiful Playa Negra. I have had the oppertunity to see iguanas, tucans, beautiful birds and butterflies just feet away from the balcony. Supermarkets are near and the neighborhood is friendly. Mercedes is a pleasure and she takes care of any issues that may occur quickly. I cannot recommend this space enough. It will quickly become your home away from home and you will never want to leave 🥰

Great place to stay and great host!

Jeff’s house is a perfect spot for the Costa Rican jungle experience right outside of the main town. The location right next to the beach was great for our group. We spent every night hanging out on the deck. Jeff himself was accommodating and very kind, he sent us some great places to eat in town. Would definitely recommend and stay here again.

This is an incredibly beautiful property and is like a mini-zoo. There are sloths, toucans, frogs, lizards and other animals around you at all times. If you stay for a few days, you’re likely to see more animals here than what you will see in the park. If you like to hike, I would recommend getting a taxi to the Puerto Vargas entrance of the park and walk all the way through the park and right back to the property (about 9 km). Marise was very helpful and a great host. We stayed here with our 3 young children for 10 days and everyone had a wonderful time. It is a very safe and comfortable place - and you have maid service (included in the price) every day!

We loved our stay in this cozy cottage! The location is perfect, and despite nearby neighbors, it's very private. The house has everything you need, and the impressive bathtube is a highlight. Great atmosphere and friendly host.

Great little wooden cottage, more charming than the pictures! It is bigger than we thought, the beds are of good quality, and the environment is exceptional: the very quiet beach is 2 minutes walk and we can observe a very rich wildlife from the living room (toucans, agoutis...). Super Negro (= large and quality supermarket) a short drive away. We wish we could have stayed longer, it's a real haven of peace ☮️

My stay was exactly what I was looking for! Private, quiet, with great access to the beach front. It was wonderful being able to walk out the front door and be at the beach in less than a minute walking! Tree's home was organized, clean and had everything I needed from beach towels & chairs to all the kitchen amenities needed for home cooking. The space felt very well thought out and relaxing. Loved every minute :)

Caribbean-style house, located in a quiet area but accessible to everything. 5 minutes walk from the National Park. The host is very nice, confirmed for us a shortening of the stay because of an early flight. The space as described, no air conditioning, except fans. The house itself is basic but provides a solution for a pleasant stay in Cavita

It's a wonderful place and even magical you are alone in nature it's a paradise you have to know that it's not luxurious ,it's like a cottage but it has everything to be well . I would go back without hesitation thank you Mike

It was wonderful to stay here! It was about a 10 minute walk to the beach and far enough from the center of puerto viejo to be quiet and only hear the sounds of the jungle. While there we lost electricity and WiFi a few times but they were always back up quickly and to be expected for the area. We would highly recommend this place to get away from it all!!

Yves was an amazing host and his property was so beautiful! Perfect for our family. Everyone had privacy (lots of bathrooms!) but there were also great spots to gather. The pool was clean and welcoming and the spacious front porch and outdoor kitchen were favorites. Yves offered us so many extras - a trip to the supermarket, setting up chairs at the beach, access to fresh seafood through his vendor, even a birthday cake with champagne!! He was always available to answer our questions and arrange activities. I would recommend Villa Mango 100% and look forward to returning!!

We were very happy with everything about our stay. The two villas were a perfect size for our group of 7 and Cesar was always very helpful and responsive, as was Zvezda. Thank you!!

What a great place and a great hostess. Had all the amenities we needed and we made a few meals a home. We stayed a week and Erinn organized a mid week clean, which was great. The place was idyllic with lovely gardens, plenty of hot water and wash facilities. Having separate rooms at the end allowed the teenagers their space too. Finally a great thanks to Erinn, she booked restaurant for us the first night, answered all our questions - got us in touch with an excellent guide Juanito. Was there when we needed and not when we didn't thank you Erinn. We went surfing, snorkeling, trekking to a waterfall for swimming and did a round with the local tribes to learn about their culture and chocolate making. We had a fantastic week. If we ever come back to Costa Rica we will be back here. Andrea

We LOVED Tania’s place!! So private and the scenery couldn’t be beat. Waking up to the sounds of the howler monkeys every morning was truly unforgettable. So much wildlife everywhere! Magical. Tania and Henri were both super responsive and helpful with any questions we had and made amazing recommendations! Tania even coordinated for someone to pick us up from the Limon airport! The house was beautiful and had everything we needed. We rented beach cruisers for our stay and the road to the house can absolutely be biked (we had to walk it up a couple hills, but it’s very manageable.. our 9 year old even had no issues). We would absolutely go back! It was magical and we miss it already! Thank you Tania!!
