Family-friendly holiday rentals in Plainview

This cabin was perfect for us to have a relaxing weekend away. It was just secluded enough to be able to relax and enjoy the breathtaking mountain views. The quaint little town was close with a few restaurants and a grocery. The kitchen was very well equipped for us to be able to stay in and cook.

Jonette was super helpful with all of our questions and with this being our first air b&b experience as she took the time to help us address all of our concerns with having to bring our dogs. Luckily we didn’t have to bring them with a last minute assist from a family member! The house was as described and had everything we needed and more including a beautiful area with some great views! Definitely recommend it as a place to stay if your going to the Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg area as it is far enough away to not get caught up in the hustle and bustle of all the tourists but close enough I t’s not a pain to have to drive there.

My husband and I had an amazing getaway and this house was perfect! Clean, literally spotless! Close to everything such as restaurants, fun in the snow, and taking a trip down memory lane. We will definitely be booking another stay in the Spring time.

First off, thank you Joseph for listing your cabin on AirBNB. This was my first rental through the service and messaging him was very easy, he responded within minutes and was always helpful. The cabin was exactly what I would hope for this type of area; great woodsy decorations (deer on wall, leather hides hanging as decorations)and yet still comfortable. The hottub was clean and functional. The property was very large and had so many great nature spots (pond you can paddle on, trails, waterfalls, creek, etc). Next, the location in relation to a great state park (Babcock) and the National Park (New River Gorge) was perfect. The cabin was in the middle of nowhere and secluded, yet we did not drive more than 30-45 minutes maximum, most places were 20 minutes away. I would not change a single thing about this stay. I will be back when the horses are on property! If you’re reading this, rent this cabin, unless you want a place in the city. I recommend a 4x4 or AWD vehicle for this

Seth and Carla were extremely responsive during our stay! We loved how many beds this house had and we were able to all spend time together while comfortably being seated around tables/living rooms! We wish the fire pit had seating or that fireplaces worked, but we loved this property and its proximity to wineries and ski resorts!

We had a wonderfully restful time away at Shelby's Hoot Owl Hideaway. It was peaceful, cozy, and clean. Shelby was very responsive to our questions, friendly, and accommodating. We appreciated the space for a quiet weekend away!

We loved staying there with our 2 year old it was perfect with the built on gate while we enjoyed being on the porch looking at the gorgeous view we didn’t have to worry about him going off the porch will definitely be back very peaceful just what our little family needed

Ben and Lori were the perfect hosts. Their home was a lovely window into the past with antique furnishings as well as an updated kitchen all decorated beautifully. Our pups had a big fenced back yard to play in and enjoyed their time there as much as we did. We would definitely recommend this home for anyone staying in the Rutherfordton area.

This was our 4th stay, 3rd during the Christmas season. As usual, a fresh-cut tree was decorated and lit up festively in the living room. The house is warm and inviting and is everything we could hope for in an "off the beaten path" stay in the area. Only a short drive to Washington Street, so you're not missing out on anything. Ellen and Michael are quick to respond with any inquiries and they could not be more accommodating. The only thing that could make our stay more complete is if we had a dog.

We stayed almost a whole month and truly felt at home. Loved every single thing about this little cottage on an orchard. Pat is a superstar host in my book. Always responsive and helpful in any way. We loved the location it's the perfect mix of feeling isolated but really only 5 minutes to the grocery store. Everything you need for an extended stay is right here. We'll be back!

My family enjoyed our stay. A plethora of towels and sheets and things to cook on and with! Very quiet and peaceful and a great view of the sunsets. Had it been on season there were plenty of fun things to do as the host has so many fun things to use. From boardgames to kayaks etc. The kitchen is very spacious as well. We felt very at home and comfortable there. Besides the accommodations, our host was amazing. We ended up having to come a day earlier than we had planned and she made sure to accommodate us. It was a pure blessing during a very stressful time. We hope to stay there again, preferably when it’s much warmer outside!

This was our 2nd time staying here! The neighborhood is very nice, safe, and convenient. The home is roomy, bright, clean, and pleasant. Kevin and Joy communicate quickly and are very friendly. It was great to be able to have our dog with us this time too! Booking, check-in and check-out is smooth and clear. We will stay again!

We visit Lancaster frequently as it was home for years. So, we have stayed in many places. This house was very welcoming, comfortable and well stocked. As this is an older house, please note that the floors are very squeaky. That will not deter us from booking again, but it should be noted.

We loved our stay! We had a great time as a family. one thing we thought of was we were very thankful our children were at the ages (5,3,2, 7 months) they were since there was lots and lots of glass stuff sitting around.

We enjoyed a long family weekend at Deborah’s home, conveniently a two hour drive for all of us. The grandkids (four - ages 4-7) were excited about the pool and delighted with all the toys and games in the house. Deborah really does an outstanding job making guests feel welcome and was responsive to queries. The house is a very nice and spacious mid-century home with a well stocked kitchen. Plenty of towels and bedding. We had a great time and appreciate Deborah’s thoughtfulness as a host.

Spent Thanksgiving with family here and it was great! Such a well stocked kitchen and labels everywhere so you can actually find things. Highly recommend, we'll be back for sure!

Phil's home was absolutely gorgeous! The downstairs shower was amazing and totally worth the stay.

It was enough for our team of 13 people and it was a home away from home. It was a clean, well organized, and maintained accommodation without any shortcomings. This is the place I'd like to stay again for a long time. We were able to enjoy and enjoy it more here, but it was winter and it was a shame that we stayed for a short period of time. Thank you very much for your host.

We have stayed here several times. The Cottage has everything we need and Micaela has always been responsive to our questions. The location is quiet and easy to get to.

Well located beach stay. Had a positive experience and would stay here again.
