We had a wonderful stay at Akwa house. There are plenty of spaces for the kids to relax and have fun while the adults could sit in the lounge overlooking the beautiful views. We loved the quiet location and family-friendly feel of the street. The kitchen was well stocked and we slept very comfortably in all the rooms. I would definitely recommend Akwa house to anyone looking for a great home right close to the beach.

We had a wonderful stay at Wessel’s place! The house was spotless, well-equipped with everything we needed, and perfectly located near the beautiful Voelklip beaches. Highly recommended!

We fell in love with the village of Stanford and the soul restoring River Home. This beautiful house is right on the river's edge and is a real treat (and retreat) to stay in. Just the place to surrender to nature, listen to the birdsong, rest and restore. We loved walking along the delightful river path. A short walk into the centre of town will bring you to several delightful restaurants. We ate at three of them (for lunch at Madré we enjoyed a really good pork belly with crispy skin and vegetables, at La Trattoria we had a feast of authentic Italian food and Agteros has a menu full of delightful South African dishes done with a modern twist). We also brownsed in some delightful homewear and gift shops. If you prefer eating at home, the kitchen at River House has everything you need to cook a gourmet meal. It is spotless, has a great gas hob and electric oven and a dishwasher for cleaning up after.

Elsja made sure we were warmly welcomed - Christmas decorations, gifts for our dogs and some fabulous treats for us! This is our 2nd holiday at the house and love the large rooms with plenty of light and fresh air - easy walks to the beach and the mountain. We will be back! Thank you.

A beautiful modern home with quality finishes and distinctive decore. Andrej, Cond and Lee were fabulous hosts and went the extra mile to made us feel right at home. The house has a fantastic layout enabling you to relax and refresh while enjoying the best of Hermanus. Hope to be back soon.

Epic stay at a beautiful place. Good comms with India in the run up and Anton helpful during our stay. He also cooked us a beautiful roast lamb dinner which we highly recommend. 5 stars all round. The house is perfectly situated, yes it is a bit tired in places but it only adds to the charm. The beds are comfy and the bathrooms in good condition and the garden an absolute gem. This was our second visit to Gledsmuir and the stay matched our best expectations - again! We had a full house of 15 young and old adults (!) but the house is so spacious there was a place for everyone, whether it was to enjoy ball play or swim outside, or to find a space inside to play board games or cards, do a jigsaw puzzle or crossword, or read. The staff were unobtrusive and helpful, and magically restored the place to its pristine level throughout the day and early each morning. In particular, not having to be overly worried about washing dishes and cleaning the kitchen was a great treat for all the busy adults in our group. We had a truly relaxing and fun stay, in beautiful and comfortable surroundings. The price is on the high side but you get what you pay for, and more.

We had the most unforgettable stay in Gansbaai, and Ethan was very accommodating. The 5-bedroom house was absolutely stunning — spacious, beautifully designed, and tastefully decorated with every detail thoughtfully considered. The peaceful surroundings were a dream, with zebras casually grazing nearby, adding a magical touch to the experience. A true escape into nature without compromising on comfort or style. Highly recommended!

We loved our stay at Lydia's place in Hermanus. Beautiful mountain views, garden and birds, and direct access to mountain walks whilst reasonably close to Voelklip beach. It had all the amenities that our family needed and a lovely authentic and rustic feel.

Absolutely loved our stay! Misha’s place is gorgeous - even nicer than the photos. Came for a weekend with some friends and it’s the perfect house for that - spacious entertainment area and pool. It’s an easy walk to the beach and to the mountain path. Bed was super comfy. Ciska was friendly and lovely. Highly recommended!

Absolutely amazing place that was just as described on the this platform. The house was so comforting and warm and had everything that we needed. Very spacious and peaceful. Would definitely be coming back here again. If I had to recommend something it would be that the pool be changed into a warm pool as the water was freezing and the sun does not reach this area. That being said I can't complain cz the garden was really a garden full of trees and plants. Simply bliss. Joanne our host was right on time and very friendly, bright smile and super helpful. Just a lovely person all round. Thanks for having us and we are eager to return again next year

What a stunning vacation property - a home away from home which is clean and fully equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The property has been tastefully decorated with an artistic flair and Tuscan look and feel. Vanessa has taken the time to ensure guest satisfaction by adding all the little extras (books, games, condiments and basic toiletries, as well as treats and bedding for pets). Our dogs were able to explore the property safely as the entire perimeter of the house is fully secured. If you have binoculars, remember to bring them with so you can enjoy the abundance of birdlife and nature that inhabits the surrounding rocky areas. From a wonderful, sparkling pool on warm summer days to a scenic coastal walk to the Harbour, you can exercise yourself and fur babies as often as you like. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely visit again in the near future. Thanks for all your efforts Vanessa which were greatly appreciated by all.

What a memorable stay in Hermanus, made more so by Marinda. Location was ideal. Quiet yet close to everything. The cottage was in a beautiful setting as Marinda's garden is breathtaking. Odie and I felt completely at home in the cottage, including interaction with neighbors! Marinda is a kind soul, always looking out for me and Odie. Cannot wait to visit again during whale season!

We had a wonderful short stay! Checking in was a breeze, very easy and flexible, which was much appreciated. The communication with the host was friendly and prompt. The accommodation was quaint and comfortable, perfect for our needs. The location was fantastic, close to everything we needed, and we especially loved the beautiful walks nearby that Lulu, our dog, thoroughly enjoyed. Highly recommend for a cozy and convenient stay!

Such a fabulous weekend! The house is well positioned, light, airy and really well equipped with everything you need. Towels, linen, soaps and extra welcome gifts of wine fruit and milk didn’t go unnoticed. Thanks for a truly super stay and allowing our doggies to stay too. Our cottage was beautifully appointed and exceeded our expectations. Janet was very accommodating with our arrival time and made our check in a breeze. We were close to necessary amenities and attractions and i would highly recommended their establishment.

A proper farm - protea flowers - but only 30 minute scenic drive to nearest large town (Stanford) and 15 minute drive to nearest small village. We (2 adults + 2 small dogs) enjoyed our walks, dips in the river ponds, and sunsets and sunrises, in short, a nice getaway. Lindsay was friendly, interesting and attentive, a great host.

My husband and I stayed at The Birdhouse for our 22nd wedding anniversary weekend. We love it there. Everything in the garden and accommodation is so thoughtfully and tastefully arranged, down to the smallest detail. The peaceful, aptly-named Birdhouse is a perfect base from which to explore Stanford. It was an easy walk from the house to the river and through the village to the Saturday market and various shops along the main road like Stanford Kitchen (where we had delicious coffees and the best pastéis de nata), Klein River Cheese Shop (where we tasted several cheeses, including an amazing oak-smoked Stanford), and Madre for a wonderful Sunday breakfast. It was great to braai when we arrived on Friday night. We slept very well in the total dark on a very comfortable bed. The hot shower works well. Kitchen well-equipped. Saturday night we drove to Springfontein Wine Estate, less than ten minutes away, for a superb dinner. Service was excellent there - and everywhere in Stanford.

A great place to stay and a great location. Lovely walks along the cliff top, accessible to restaurants and town. The accommodation was spotless and had all we needed for our two night stay. We hope to return!
