Holiday houses in Overberg District Municipality

We planned a riverside getaway with some friends and a boat. House has a lovely deck overlooking the river and floating jetty- we spend many hours there. The house itself is really well suited for a family. It has ample outdoor furniture and deck space to enjoy. The Nespresso machine was a treat. The area is safe and quiet, neighbours are close, but never felt intrusive. The house has access to a well kept slipway- launching a smallish boat with a 4x4 was pretty straight forward. Reaching the house with a 2x4 is possible, but would recommend using a 4x4.

A great place to stay and very dedicated landlords.

Candace’s home is located in a quiet, gated cul-de-sac just a short walk from the main street in Franschhoek. The house was exactly like the photos, with two good sized bedrooms and one smaller room. The living area was comfortable and the kitchen was equipped with all the basics. There is also a secure garage. Whilst we had a car, we used uber to get around to the various vineyards, this was very easy to do to/from the main gate of the estate.

What a gem of a place! Perfect home away from home for a peaceful and relaxed family holiday. The most beautiful views from both decks. We loved watching the birds enjoy the back garden and flowers. We even made friends with one of the local birds - Toto. The house is perfectly situated to walk to Silversands beach and the penguin sanctuary. A nice easy walk, even for Ouma whi joined us. Annie is an amazing host and responded promptly to any requests or questions. The info she left of the area was very handy. We will definitely book again at this beautiful Sea Cottage.

We had a lovely week at Dominic’s house with 2 young children. The house is as described in the heart of Franschhoek within walking distance of the restaurants and shops. We loved the Saturday village market! Our fave places were the picnic at Boschendal, Babylonstoren and Ma Maison. We were pleasantly surprised how well catered places were for kids with playgrounds, kids menus etc. We had a wonderful time! His house is on a main road as others mentioned but it didn’t affect our stay at all, we would return!

We had a lovely stay in Greyton! Andrews home has beautiful views of the Greyton reserve. We so enjoyed sitting on the patio looking at the mountain! The pool was great for the kids!

I had a fantastic stay at The Stanford getaway! The location is perfect - just a short walk from the center of town. The amenities were excellent, and the decor was absolutely beautiful, making it a truly cozy and inviting space. I hope to stay here again on my next visit. Highly recommend!

Guy’s place was where we spent our last 5 days in SA and was simply stunning. It’s so rare to stay somewhere these days that exceeds the advertising pictures but Guy’s place does just that. The view that greets you as you enter the property is worth the money alone. The house itself has everything you would need and both Guy and Jennifer are always on hand to assist should you need them. There were only 2 of us but you could easily stay in a big group and have plenty of space as the house is vast. Jennifer who met us on arrival and on departure was fantastic and Guy provided really helpful local recommendations for trips and food etc. The local restaurants were all good and there are some stunning beaches not far away as well. We will definitely be back and for longer next time.
