Monthly Rentals in Okuizumo, Nita District

This is our fourth stay in a year. They were kind again this time, and we had a very fulfilling week. We will be back in Takahashi!

Tastefully decorated, beautifully maintained residence nestled amongst several onsen establishments. A lovely izakaya is also nearby, just a short walk away. Wonderful experience.

Our stay at Toshinori-san's house was unforgettable. It was truly unique experience staying in a traditional Japanese kominka with a thatched roof. We got to light a fire to heat up the goemon bath! There were also modern versions of all the appliances, e.g. a water heater, shower, AC, and induction cooktop, available for convenience. The non-flush toilet did take a little getting used to. It was recommended to come during daylight hours so there's time to explain how to use the bath, wood stove, and other traditional features of the house. You'll also be able to walk around to see the mountains and the flowers and vegetables grown in the house's garden. Every area of the house was thoughtfully designed, inside and out. This is a Japanese traditional house with a courtyard view and is a big surprise on this trip! Experience sleeping tatami, the mattress and comforter are comfortable and warm.The bathroom is separated from the washroom, it is very suitable for many people to stay, and the bathroom is clean and you can take a bath.The kitchen was also well stocked with cooking supplies such as pots and condiments.
