Holiday houses in Ōkārito

We had a lovely stay at this home. the bed was comfy and there were big spaces to chill and check out the view. The garden was large enough for the kids to play. The property is situated out town, so private and quite, but easy and quick to get to the centre of town.

This is the most beautiful place I had stayed during my New Zealand trip. The place was spotless, extremely cosy and new. I strongly recommend this place to anyone who wish to stay in Franz Josef.

Well the pictures instantly appealed- but it’s much larger in real life. The accessibility for me of being able to check in at 9pm was very helpful and as I had a lot of gear with me having the door at the front was very useful for loading and unloading. The details in the memrobilia were very interesting and yet a classic collection that was visually appealing A very classy apartment. Also much warmer and quieter that I had expected.

Really lovely place to stay. We enjoyed how tranquil it was out in the country, and we even got a clear night to see the amazing stars! We didn't use the fireplace as there wasn't a fire guard and we had our one year old with us who likes to run head first into everything, but the beds were super warm and thankfully it didn't get too cold during our stay. Definitely planning on coming back again soon :)

The perfect escape in luxurious accomodations and an environment typifying the Cantabrian landscape. Thoughtfully and exceptionally well considered accomodation with all you would expect but with minimal environmental footprint - just what I needed to get away and disconnect. Plenty of amazing tramps/hikes across beautiful landscape with amazing and responsive team. 100% recommend: I’ll definitely be returning!

This was my second stay at Somers Holiday Cottage, and once again, everything was just perfect. The cottage was spotless and well-prepared, with a clean, fully equipped kitchen that made cooking a breeze. The heat pump kept the place warm and cozy, even on cooler evenings. I especially enjoyed the spacious garden and the peaceful surroundings—it’s such a relaxing spot. The quiet road nearby was ideal for my evening jogs, which I really looked forward to. A lovely bonus this time was being able to pick some delicious apples! Thank you, Leonie and Peter, for another wonderful stay. I’ll definitely be back again.

Jillian is a wonderfully warm and welcoming. She provided us with fresh eggs and breakfast, which was such a lovely touch. The room was spotless and very comfortable, and the sunset view from the property was absolutely stunning. Highly recommended!
