Smoking-friendly holiday rentals in Northeast India

This was my first airBnB experience in Bangladesh. I was bringing my family to enjoy staying with me as well. Everything positive that has already been said by others, I standby it 100%. Our host’s hospitality was as gracious as the house he hosted us in. Exceptionally furnished and decorated as well. Anyone will feel at home there. I also felt very safe which is an extremely important factor for me. Our host was always super responsive and flexible with our needs. I recommend this place 10 out of 10 times and would strongly encourage anyone who is looking for an amazing host/house combo with the airport close by to reserve their stay here. Thank you Colonel!

Fantastic apartment with all the amenities a family might require - from a washing machine, microwave, water heaters, water purifiers, clean bedsheets, blankets, etc. The best part of the experience was the housekeeper, Robi who goes above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable and looked after. The security guards, Proshanto and Noyon are also very helpful resources to support your stay. You feel secure and comfortable - and the balcony has a really nice view too! Highly recommend.

My husband and I really enjoyed staying in this flat. Before we arrived, Kusum was very communicative and responsive to our questions and very clear about our check in instructions. During our stay Kusum was available to us for any questions or help when needed. The apartment itself was immaculate and exactly as described. The bed was comfortable. The terrace is wonderful to sit outside and relax. The size of the flat is a perfect one for a couple. It was very peaceful at night and away from the main roads. The flat is also in a great location in Kalighat, near so many walkable eating places and cafes. It is walking distance from the Rabrinda Sarovar Lake. We had a great stay at the penthouse and will definitely look forward to staying there again. Thanks Kusum!

I had the pleasure of staying at Payong Homestay for 2 nights, and it was an unforgettable experience. The hosts, Ms Chungchung was very warm, welcoming, and went above and beyond to ensure comfort for my family of five. The rooms are spacious as well and privacy is well maintained between the two seperate twin bedrooms with seperate attached bathrooms. The room was cozy, clean, and well-maintained, with all the necessary amenities. The homemade food was delicious and feel very hygenic. I highly recommend Chungchung homestay to anyone looking for a genuine homestay experience with eyes for cleanliness. Thank you Chung for making my stay comfortable.

My mother and I had a great stay at Sourav’s place. The apartment was clean, well-maintained and the host was very accommodating with all our requests. Location is also great as it is close to market area. Thanks Sourav, I’ll definitely consider coming back.

It was a great stay at Tausif’s place. The rooms were very clean, and most amenities were available. If you’re a group of six people using three rooms, I can tell you it’s the best deal—a very budget-friendly option. Also, the owner is very nice and always available to help you. We really enjoyed staying there and highly recommend it!

Superb hospitality and cleanliness of the apartment. One suggestion - if you have long car like Innova, Ertiga then you need to park outside the apartment, which is also safe

My family had an amazing stay at Siddhartha’s place! The home was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. It came with an well equipped kitchen, convenient parking space. Also the location was easily commutable. TLDR: can be your go to choice for a comfortable three people stay.

I had a wonderful stay at Sukanya’s place, “Ejaar A.” The property was exactly as described—spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, and equipped with all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. Sukanya was an excellent host, always responsive and helpful.

Our stay at Raha Stays hosted by Girish was truly exceptional. Here’s why: - Host (Girish): - Picked us up from Ghoom station and guided us to the property. - Shared detailed recommendations for exploring Darjeeling over three days. - Treated us like friends, with no conditions or restrictions—just pure hospitality. - Property: - Even better than the pictures—spacious, well-equipped, and serene. - Located 2 km from Ghoom in a remote and peaceful area. - Fully equipped kitchen (utensils, geyser) and modern washrooms (hair dryer, washing machine). - Activities: - Start your day with stunning sunrises over the valleys. - Trek to nearby tea gardens, cross valleys, and rivers—it’s the highlight of the stay! - Enjoy unlimited bonfires under a clear, star-filled sky (turn off property lights for the best view). - Extras: - House help arranged by Girish for cooking and cleaning (food was average but authentic). We’re definitely coming back!

This is a great place to stay in Jorhat. It is located in a peaceful neighbourhood. The property is cosy and spacious, with lots of light coming in, from all sides. Aditee (co-host) is friendly and warm and was available on the call for anything I needed.

Great place and host was also very responsive. The place is very near to MG Marg and taxi stand or Gangtok. Only thing I could add to the experience is mountain view from the balcony. Overall, a very positive and good experience.

It was a great stay. Arun is a very responsive, proactive and friendly host. He suggested many local places. This place is at a walking distance for US consulate office. Has authentic gujarati food. The sweet shop is too good as well. Just before the entrance the locality has a small temple. We even went for a night walk around 10 and the locality seemed pretty nice. Superhost tag was justified by the cleanliness and all the amenities. I would recommend it to anyone. If I ever visit Kolkata again, would surely go for this one. Thank you again!

my first time on airbnb. had to cancel the booking first and to my surprise, the host messaged me asking if everything was ok. booked again as soon as i got my plans cnfrmd. got a message from the host, explaining how to reach the apartment. it was as shown in the pics on airbnb and was super clean with almost everything required. zepto, swiggy, zomato all deliver on your doorstep. full cutlery and utensils available along with an induction, sanwich griller and microwave. they even have given a peg measurer which shows how minutely and thoughtfully they have decorated the apartment. the host even allowed to leave my luggage and insulin to be kept till evening, on the check out day. overall a full value of money. will for sure recommend and come back.
