Farmstay holiday rentals in Matamata-Piako District

We had a wonderful 4 night stay at Teresa and Peter’s place. Having a second bedroom for our 15 month old to sleep in worked out well. Teresa had kindly placed some breakfast items in the fridge for us and Denver the dog would constantly drop fresh avocados outside our door. The tree-lined driveway ushers you up a hill to the main house and detached apartment that has magnificent views over the countryside towards the Kaimai Ranges from the lounge and main bedroom . The large wooden deck is a great place to relax and take in the scenery after a long drive. Matamata has a good choice of restaurants just 5 mins away. I highly recommend this AirBnB. It is clean, modern, well appointed and the hosts are very friendly and accommodating.

Such a lovely stay. The rooms were perfectly clean, comfortable and stylish. The hosts were very welcoming and thoughtful. We enjoyed Michael's archery session and Mia's amazing breakfast. The freshly baked bread was fabulous. And the lovely dog Hunter showed me around their beautiful garden!! We had a great time and it is actually the most pleasant accommodation we have ever stayed at in NZ.

Just loved this place. The autumn made it such a beautiful place with light fog, the animals and Mt Te Aroha. What wonderful hosts that made us feel so welcome.

Absolutely loved our little cabin, it was easy to find with quick check in. The property is gorgeous! A cute little wood cabin thats cosy in the evening and a warm shower whilst semi-outsude was lovely. Also loved the gazebo with the bbq, we'd definetly stay again thank you!

What a beautiful location! I now want to move into the countryside and have a beautiful house and garden. We really enjoyed our stay and found Harriet both helpful and friendly. Would stay again.

Another lovely stay at Adrienne’s. Her place is spotless, comfortable, beautifully designed and the pool was so nice as the weekend was very hot and sunny. It’s a peaceful spot and has everything you need plus a few extras. This is definitely our favourite place to stay in the Hamilton area and we will be back.

This was the perfect place to stay for our visit to Hobbiton! It was cute and comfortable, and we absolutely loved visiting with Maria’s sheep and alpaca! She even gave us treats to feed them! So much fun! The Red Shed is only 15 minutes from Hobbiton and an easy drive, so it was the perfect place to relax after a long day of walking and sightseeing!

We just loved this place. Our little family had the most wonderful time here. We loved being surrounded by nature and waking up to the sounds of the birds. The outside bath was such a treat. We will definitely be back!

Really beautiful place to stay, quite close to Hobbiton and Matamata. Nice distance from other houses if you're looking for a more private location. Caren is lovely and really responsive.

We've stayed before and definitely would stay again ! Thanks Michele for having us. We were down for our nephews tangi and booked in to rest before having to make a 7hr drive home. Michele was awesome quick to respond to our last minute booking, offered us a early check in and a late check out which was so appreciated. Our stay at the Masters Chambers was exactly what we needed after a hectic 3 days. The cabin is private and quiet and soooo peaceful, had everything we needed for our stay. We will definitely be back again ☺️

Kylie’s thoughtful touches did not go unnoticed. I arrived on a hot afternoon and the A/C was on and the room was cool and I was instantly feeling the luxury of the stay . So many little treats to make me so at home -Even a pillow library to choose from. I can’t wait to find an excuse to return

I stayed at the cottage for a week and it was a very peaceful place to stay. Very cute cottage, comfortable bed and couch, lots of space. Felt very welcome there. Definitely a great place for anyone looking for somewhere more quiet.

We loved our night at Melissa and Charlie’s barn house. Very clean and comfortable. Coming from Auckland we had the country experience we were looking for including the beautiful pigs and roosters. We would highly recommend

The cottage was well maintained and thoughtfully supplied with all kind of useful kitchen tools and equipment. It is in the peaceful and beautiful location, the host is responsive and helpful. The location is very peaceful and beautiful. I would strongly recommend this place if you are looking for rural getaway to relax and recharge.

Absolutely gorgeous place to spend a relaxing couple of nights. Tony was an amazing host and the suite itself is cute and very well-supplied. The sunset views were unbeatable.

This was our favorite place we stayed on our trip to New Zealand! Sue and Nick went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. Sue shared her recipes with us, gave us local recommendations, and made her famous cheese scones for us the morning of our departure. Nick made the fire for us knowing it would be a clear night, and the star gazing was out of this world! The house is beautifully designed and pristinely cleaned. You won’t regret staying here!

The cottage is the perfect spot to stay to enjoy the surrounding trails with many options in walking distance. We really enjoyed not having to drive anywhere to access glorious trails. The donkeys are a lovely addition to the property as they are super friendly and so cute. The cottage is well equipped with all of the necessities required for a more than comfortable stay. The beds and linens are crisp and clean and it’s a pleasure to fall asleep in the darkness and silence of nature. We have been travelling in NZ for 2 months from Canada and this is our favourite spot so far!! Sarah and James are wonderful hosts!

Cai & Mike's place was wonderful! Perfect idyllic setting in the hills of New Zealand. The friendly goat, horses, and cows were a great addition to see right near the house. It felt private and very peaceful. There was a bit of road noise, but nothing that kept us up at night. The water pressure in the shower was also incredible. This was an easy place to base our trips to Hobbiton, Rotorua, and Waitomo from, while still staying close to good restaurants and grocery stores in Cambridge. I would definitely stay here again.
