Staying at the Heart of the Lion was one of the most incredible experiences. Being in a home that is over a hundred years old with a vast history was remarkable. It is incredible and very impressive that Grace and her family maintains their home and humongous garden all by themselves. The hosts were very friendly and gave clear instructions as to how to best preserve and respect this home, it is clear the amount of effort they put into allowing others to enjoy their historical property. The main bathtub was impeccable!!! so luxurious that my partner used it twice within our 1 day stay. I would highly recommend anyone to stay a night here to enjoy this wonderful staycation!

had a great Christmas! thanks so much for having us. The house was massive, clean and fairly well equipped, could do with some more cooking trays and pots and pans but otherwise very good.

What a find! Peter & Yoshie’s place is amazing. The location is lovely, so close to the beach and local amenities. We ate in, but the cafe opposite is obviously very popular as were the restaurants within easy walking distance. The house is very comfortable and well equipped. We had varied weather but were warm and cosy. We were lucky with enough warm sun to have beautiful still mornings so ate our breakfast on the small park next door and watched the sunsets from the bench overlooking the sea watching pelicans and other seabirds fly past. Would highly recommend and hope to return when we visit Melbourne next.

Our stay was very enjoyable and the accommodation was fantastic with all required amenities. The propert has a fantastic patio and backyard. the host, Maha, was wonderful and very helpful. He was very responsive and allowed us to check in late as per our convenience. i would highly recommend this property and host to future visitors.

Beautiful home - photos do not do it justice. Clean throughout, clean and spacious bathrooms x2. Large maintained rear garden with different areas to sit. Large kitchen makes mealtime easy. Beautifully furnished and decorated. Ample parking and covered front / rear verandah. Would love to stay here again!

Wonderful central property for family group to stay in. Very comfortable and homely for all ages. Encouraged informal catch ups in spacious areas available. Easy to get around with car spaces plus very close to public transport. Brenda was responsive and helpful.

Amy and Edzard are greats hosts and provided timely response during our stay. We feel well looked after all the time from the detailed check in guide to the great presentation of the whole property. The house itself is a hidden gem in the area and also it is close to the gardens and walking tracks nearby which is ideal for a morning walk. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back.

It is a nice place to stay and you can travel to several places around to communicate with the nature. Conney is super kind and helpful, she provided effective help and tried her best to assist us. The house is clean and large, worth for you to stay!

An amazing place. After a busy day of sightseeing it was so nice to get back to this luxurious house, pour ourselves a glass of wine, have a game of pool or two. The beds were very comfortable. Our host provided beautiful soaps, shampoo and lotions. Best part was the abundance of boxes of tissues since I had a slight cold. I would not hesitate to recommend Peter & Lydia's home to anyone who wants a five star home.

We were fortunate enough to stay here for almost a month and it did not disappoint! House was beautifully decorated and clean! Equipped with everything you could possibly need for a comfortable long term stay. Annika was incredible helpful and responsive whenever we had any questions. Could not fault! The place was as described in the listing. It was relaxing and beautiful with scenic surroundings. The property manager emily was very responsive and helpful accommodating our needs.

Quiet and safe neighbourhood. Easy to park and great for large families. The lake view from the yard is truly stunning. Those with kids will enjoy the opportunity to feed the geese and ducks that come right up to your yard. The place is sparkling clean and host is very responsive to all our queries.

The house is so open and spacious exactly what we needed for the family. The backyard is small, but there’s a wonderful park 5mins walk, and small shopping center 15mins walk away that I could pick up whatever we needed. Area is safe and quiet.

What a fabulous place! The character of this home and beauty of the surrounding gardens made for such a great family getaway. With the billiard table, pool, sauna and tennis court, our teenagers were happy and occupied. Loved that we could walk to Sherbrooke Falls from the house, and the gorgeous cafe across the road. We absolutely loved staying at Mark’s fantastic house! It’s a beautiful property, and larger than it seems in the photos. It’s also very well equipped, and with the crazy Melbourne weather kept us warm with the heating and cool with the aircon. Our pup really enjoyed her time there, too! The pool is also fantastic, and the decked area great for chilling out. We would love to stay again in future!
