It was such a pleasure staying at Shahanawaz Uncle's Airbnb. He is a truly wonderful host! From the moment I arrived, he made me feel incredibly welcome and comfortable. The accommodations were exactly as described, clean, cozy, and well-maintained. What really made my stay special, though, was Shahanawaz Uncle's genuine hospitality. He was always happy to chat and offer recommendations for local restaurants and attractions, and he even [mention a specific act of kindness, e.g., helped me with travel accomodations which turned out to be awesome. It felt less like staying at an Airbnb and more like visiting family, although i might ve not been the best guest he had, he surely made me feel great and noticed, I highly recommend Shahanawaz Uncle's place to anyone looking for a warm, welcoming, and truly memorable experience. Aijaz, his staff and family, are the most welcoming of people. As I was the only guest at the time, I was invited to sit and eat with the family, even after Ramadan had started and they couldn’t eat. Aijaz’s mother, is a fantastic cook and she made traditional Kashmiri food for my lunch and dinners - all were delicious and filling. If you haven’t pre-booked any tours, I thoroughly recommend you ask Aijaz to organise his special tours, and yes, they may cost a little extra compared to the big tour companies, but mine included an English speaking personal driver (with commentary) and a hot picnic lunch with tea (prepared by his mother) every day. And, where he takes you is off the beaten track, so there won’t be many (if any) other tourists. I 100% recommend staying at Kawa retreat for a unique Kashmiri experience. Be aware that it can get very cold at night, so bring your beanies and wooly bed socks - it is at the foothills of the Himalayan mountains after all 😉.

Easily one of the best stays ever! The hosts were so warm and kind, they really took care of me but Aunty’s food was Unreal! Her kahwa was perfect and those aloo parathas Straight-up legendary with Almond chutney and just when I started craving some South Indian food, she just provided me some killer dishes which were kashmiri and south Indian at the same time so Yum! The room had everything I needed—fast WiFi, a heater, hot water, and a clean bathroom. The blankets were warm and cozy the room had a good view looking the mountains. But honestly, what made it special was just how sweet and caring the hosts were. Can’t wait to go back. Highly recommend!

What truly sets this home stay apart is the exceptional hospitality. The hosts were incredibly welcoming, treating us like family from the moment we arrived. Qazi and his Mom were always available to assist with any requests. This place is very close to the airport, perfectly located for both relaxation and exploration . Popular tourist spots, cafe, departmental stores were just a short drive away. Our stay at qazi’s place was nothing short of perfect, an experience that exceeded all our expectations !! I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Srinagar .
