Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Lake Whitney

Carla is a WONDERFUL host. She made sure we had everything we needed, and that we knew if there was any other way for her to help she was ready to do it! The house is exceptional - very clean and well kept. The beds were comfortable with plenty of fresh linens and more than you could want available in the closets. Having the pack-n-play and the high chair was a big help. The one downstairs (master) bedroom is convenient for those who may need less stairs, with 4 more upstairs. There are a minimum of 3 steps to get into the house for those with physical challenges - but they have great railings. The unique historical features are positively intermingled with modern convenience. The Christmas decorating was a joy for our family's Christmas celebrations. There are many places for great food nearby, the local (small) grocery store is well stocked, and all of the major options are 15 minutes away in Waco. Thanks for a great time and we will be back!

I just needed a place to crash for a night; the place was much more than that. I found myself wishing I’d brought my wife with me; she would have really enjoyed it!

We had a wonderful stay at this peaceful abode. So nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Hosts offered to bring an extra space heater since the weather was unusually cold. Even got a tour from a friendly farm dog :) and the Homestead is a must-visit!

This place was a little sweet gateway even though we only stayed one night. The special treats they provided were so sweet and rare. Everything was comfortable and relaxing. I recommend staying here

Beautiful backyard backing up to the Paluxy River with a beautiful view. Amber and Alan provided materials for s'mores for their firepit which was greatly appreciated. perfect place for a large family. Place was spacious and location was convenient, within a short walk to Big Rocks Park and a short drive to the local sites. would stay again!

Recommend this place 10/10. Host is super nice and responsive. House is located right in the heart of historic Main Street, walkable to beautiful shops and restaurants. It has all the amenities and very charming inside.

My wife and I absolutely loved our stay in the cabin. It was peaceful, and private. We enjoyed watching and listening to the small group of cows pasturing on the property. It was very clean and comfortable with everything we needed. Location was good, not far from town, but far enough to enjoy some peace and quiet. Would definitely stay there again!

We had the best time at Gaylons’s cabin! It was in the perfect location and felt super private! The house was beautiful, had everything we needed and felt very comfortable. It was below freezing when we arrived but the cabin was warm and welcoming! We love Heritage Homestead & it’s just around the corner. The drive into Waco is close enough to feel connected but far enough away to feel like you are in a remote cabin-the best of both worlds! We stayed for 3 nights and felt right at home. We would most definitely stay here again & will be recommending to our friends!
