Holiday houses in Lajes

What an amazing place! The little lava stone house is on its own overlooking the sea. It is so private that the shower room has huge sliding windows opening into the garden (we opened them in winter). The main room has a lovely wooden feel with a big bed and an open fireplace at one end. The kitchen is OK- not made for big cooks, but the rest makes up for it. Two great restaurants- Por do sal down by the bathing pools in Biscoitos - great fish but also steaks ( open 6 to 9) and Caneta in Altares, more traditional in a lovely old house, with fabulous Alcatra (beef stew) open 12-3.

What a gem of a place, thanks for sharing the space Sabrina! Conveniently located within walking distance of the beach, restaurants, and groceries. I felt completely at home in Praia by the second day. No issues with parking and excursions around the island were easy to do as the main roads were just a short drive from the house. I didn't spend much time in the house itself as I like to explore, but when I was there I had everything I needed and was quite comfortable, even during a 2 day storm that brought very high winds and rain. Highly recommend!

First time on Terceira Island with our 2-year-old son. The house , located northwest of the island, is very close to the Serra de Santa Bárbara and traditional villages. Excellent for those looking for hiking along the mountain trails and being close to the main facilities. We stayed at Beer House, with a beautiful view of the sea but also the green pastures of the mountain. It is well located, however you hear a lot of the cars passing on the road ahead early in the morning. The wind is heard but being located on the northern coast of the island, that is perfectly normal. But our experience was great at the same. We loved everything and had the comfort we needed as a family. Near a very good restaurant and supermarket. For those who run, there are very good paths from the house to natural pools, where to run and smell the sea is not lacking. Tiago was very helpful and available. We rented a car directly with him and it was all fairly easy. I recommend it!

What a truly special place this is and how lucky did we feel to end/start the years here. The welcome basket was such a thoughtful gesture that we appreciated after our long trip! You have everything you need, the view is SPECTACULAR, a 5 minute walk and you’re at the pool, everything else is a short drive away, we made use of the fireplace a few times and so enjoyed it…. There’s so much more to say. We will definitely be back! Book this lovely house and enjoy the sound of the waves 🌊

Victor is a charming and attentive host the apartment is a waking dream the terrace is fabulous we were lucky with the weather in January stunning location easy street parking narrow streets but you have to take your time go with your eyes closed

I am from the island so I came back to visit and explore. Serreta is a peaceful village with lots of charm & has a small cafe for you to get breakfast. The cottage itself was perfect for what we needed: a clean place to stay, a comfortable bed & an outside cooking/seating area. It’s a short winding drive from all of the bigger towns/cities which have everything you need. The hosts were fantastic, very responsive and they have a restaurant just down the road where we sampled the Alcatra (amazing regional dish) and all fantastically priced. If we were to visit again we would definitely be hoping this is free! Thank you, Ti Chôa.

I have stayed at MANY airbnb’s over the years and Jorge’s property is in the top two of all (The other being in Mendocino, California). Jorge was an amazing host, the location was incredibly relaxing and beautiful, and the home was comfortable, well-stocked and clean. I would return in a heartbeat and highly recommend this property to anyone who will be traveling to Terciera.
