Like a fortress! This was kind of like a nice cool cave set back from a busy, noisy part of Cartagena. Great neighborhood near Plaza Santo Domingo. margarita was super responsive. I mentioned needing to do laundry (none in the apartment), and without my asking, she left us a drying rack so we could rinse things. Amazing bathroom , just as pictured. We did not cook, but you probably could.

Our stay was wonderful. Claudia’s place had everything we needed and more, security was friendly and helpful. Claudia helped us find a sitter, things for work and just wealth for all things Cartagena. If you want proximity to the beach, restaurants and The Old City, this is the spot for you. Our family of 4 had a lovely stay at Itaca. It is a one-of-a-kind experience with a true private island feel. Situated on the tip of the island you have beautiful ocean views at all times. The accommodations are simple because of the natural environment. And while “rustic”, everything is clean and comfortable and totally worth sacrificing luxury amenities for the unique outdoor experience. If you are a group that knows how to sit and chill, this spot is perfect. Easy private 2pm arrival by boat from Baru which the host set up for us. Easy to get boat rides to fish or go visit other islands. We had the host do grocery shopping for us and we had most meals at the property so we could relax and this was the best decision ever. They did great job shopping, all fruits and vegetables were very fresh and delicious. We caught fish and lobster and purchased more fish and lobster to be the main course of our meals. Beautiful blue water. Great ocean breeze. Friendly people. Diamond in the rough.

The place is super chill, you sleep on top of the water, Aldo has a very nice vibe and Martha has everything set so you have a nice experience!!! There’s a lot of logistics to get to the island but it worth it!!
