Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Hikkaduwa Beach

Many thanks to Thanuja and her family for their hospitality and great home. The house is beautiful, the location is excellent, close to shops, cafes, beach, surfing. The house has everything you need, a kitchen, a bedroom with a large bed, a workplace, fast Internet, air conditioning, a beautiful backyard. The hosts treated us to local food, it was very tasty. This is a great option for a long stay.

really nice house, and really nice host, wasn’t quite where the pin location was, but they let us use the scooter so was easy enough to get around, also quite nice to be a little set back from the main hustle of weligama

We had a great stay at Bandula’s villa! Bandula was so helpful and friendly. The place was clean and perfectly located. We would 100% stay here again if we came back to Sri Lanka

Everything was perfect! Flexible check in and great Appartement! Sometimes it is difficult to get TukTuk drivers drive up the hill but then you only have to walk for 8minutes :)

Very private and comfortable space 5 minutes walk from Kabalana beach. Garden is huge and nicely shaded. Outdoor shower. Nice upper and lower balcony. Very lovely place

Myself and my family spent five nights in August Beach House. It was the perfect place to chill out for a few days with everyone and surf. The house is right on the beach and the back garden gate opens onto the beach where there there are plentiful surf rental shacks and surf lessons to be had. The house benefits from a large shaded private garden and lots of communal space inside. Each bedroom has AC and an en-suite. There is also a private pool which was great for the kids and to cool down from the mid afternoon heat. Weligama is a good beginner location for surfing and I imagine there are more advanced surfing locations nearby and lots of bars and restaurants on the main strip although we tended to go to the same one or two places. Special mention to the August Beach House staff who made breakfast and did laundry, we did not want them to clean our bedrooms each day but they offered to do so! All round perfect house for chilling out and surfing on your doorstep.

Beautiful big villa just outside Galle fort. 5 mins by tuktuk. Spacious bedrooms and a large pool. Excellent food too. We were very well looked after. The house is on a quiet street with not much within walking distance so need to tuktuk everywhere.

Chatura was a great host in that he went out of his way to educate us on pending power cuts, offering us the opportunity of early check in and late check out. He was an amazingly considerate host and offered a comfortable house including a well-equipped kitchen. We enjoyed the private pool so much. There was one safety concern especially for groups travelling with kids however, which is the lack of a pool screen and a sloping pool edge which was slippery.

We had a very satisfying week in Mirissa, where we visited for the first time, thanks to the wonderful garden, clean pool, homely room, and friendly people. Thank you! It's a shame I couldn't say hello to Mrs. Renjerni at the end.. Chaminda and her family are always happy and I'll visit again next time I have a chance. Thank you:)

Great apartment at a great price. The Ac and wifi were really good and the smart TV was a nice touch. There is a small shop across the way for essentials like water and snacks, and it’s easy to get a tuktuk to the beach or city. The host was very responsive and even let us have a late checkout! Would definitely stay here again :)

Our stay at Pramod's place with my family was fantastic! He is truly an incredible host, always attentive to our needs and ready to help with anything we required. His kindness and generosity exceeded all expectations, from assisting with our late check-in due to a delayed flight to helping us organize various trips around the area. The apartment is fantastic, always clean and located in a convenient area for any interest. I highly recommend staying with him so an unique experience !

Beautifully decorated place with the best bed we had so far. It is extra large and really comfortable and cozy. We felt extremely comfortable there. You are right in the center of Ahangama and can walk to everything wonderfully and there are lots of cool cafes, bars and brunch places around the apartment. Of course, what you have to note is that it is directly on the beach, but also directly on the road, which you can definitely hear at night and in the morning. Earplugs helped us and we were aware that it is a little louder.

The house is super cozy and lacks no detail. The environment is perfect, quiet and we loved everything. Thuruni was very friendly and helped us with everything, to rent a motorbike, take a tuktuk, he recommended things in the area…The cleanliness was impeccable and everything was perfect. My only downside is that it is a bit hot inside the house😬the fan is not enough for hot days. But the bottom line is that the house is great and all the outdoor space is bigger than you would expect.

We had an amazing stay here. The room was very clean and organized, the location is great with the amazing view of the ocean from the balcony.

The place was fantastic. Priyantha (the housekeeper) kindly check us in and was very responsive and easy to get a hold of. The flat looks exactly like the photos however there were small bits of cleaning that David was very quick to help sort out! The location was a ~10 mins tuktuk from both Galle Fort and Unawatuna making it great if travelling to both and would recommend going to Tea Zone Unawatuna if you want some amazing local tea. It was very secure as well with security at the entrance of both the building itself and the tower entrance and a great view of the city and the coast from far away. Generally a good stay!

We were really happy to stay here - felt like a home in another country. Appreciated the own outdoor kitchen & laundry machine. The area was quiet, peacefull & mostly local. It is easy to move around - also to local markets & supermarket & fishmarket. The Host are very polite and they have their own small shop where you can buy for example all the drinking water & eggs. The apartment itself is spacious. It was also easy to organize a bike from nearby & store it at the yard. You can easily live here in the rhytm of the nature and hear also the nearby temple/monestry monks singing every morning & evening. It was convienent to get to all the nearby activities like yoga, restaurants etc with a bike in a couple of minutes. In over all it was a peacefull home not too far from anything and we were especially happy not to have loud overnight parties or traffic noises at night around. Blissfull, great value for the money & highly recommended!🫶🏻

We are a travelling family and the villa was just perfect for us. We also work online so we needed a quick internet - and it worked very well. Sanjaya and his family are warm beautiful people and they always helped us with anything we asked for. We also enjoyed the garden that is full of birds. Very recommended accomodation! We really enjoyed our stay at Ranjits little apartment. Very charming, and both he and his wife were wonderfully attentive hosts and gave us lots of local advice. The apartment was full of light and had all the amenities we needed. Its in a great position in Fort Galle, but also quiet at night. The only problem we had was that the wifi was a bit sporadic……but other than that I would definitely recommend staying there to future airbnb guests. Thankyou for our stay.

It was a great pleasure to stay with Nihal and his wife. Now I know why he is considered a super host. Extremely friendly and helpful and very comfortable.

Very worth for the price! Easy to walk to nearby beaches and cafes. Definitely hard to sleep in at all since the road gets quite loud with busses honking. The house is next to the forest/jungle so there are many small bugs like ants in the bathroom and sometimes the bedroom but it’s not so bad, just something to be aware of. The power went out a few times during our stay but apparently that’s pretty normal for this region especially if it is raining. Overall would still recommend for good location and price. Padma was able to do our laundry as well for a small fee

Super nice apartments—very clean and cozy. The self check-in was smooth and super easy. Natalie is a very helpful and communicative host. Highly recommended for visitors to Weligama or Mirissa beaches!

The old chilli house really did feel like a home from home. In a great location Kris and his family were very warm and welcoming. Kris is a natural host and had contacts for anything we wanted to do. From Tuk Tuk and Scooter rides when needed to his amazing knowledge of the area. We were so lucky to experience this little slice of paradise. The old chilli house has beautiful rooms, with attention to small, homey details. Do not hesitate to book, it’s a popular airbnb for a reason!
