Great ranch house! Awesome front porch! Very cool furnishings and furniture. Very quiet and peaceful!

It was a great play to stay. Mary was an Amazing host. She was very helpful and was very prompt in responding.

This location is sublime. We came to explore the local ghost towns by car, but were so happy in the cabin itself that it was hard to go anywhere. Bring lots of food to cook and enjoy the porch and fire pit. Gorgeous sunsets and night sky, and my three dogs had the vacation of their lives. I hope to come back!

I have stayed in several Airbnb’s in multiple states & this one suited me best. Every day I saw deer, turkey, javelina & roadrunners. The sunrises & sunsets on the ranch were something to see. It is one of the most peaceful locations I’ve ever experienced. The occasional coyote yipping at night was the only sound out there. I slept good every night. If you need an out of the way place with beautiful views then I highly recommend staying here. I will definitely be back.

The surroundings were quiet, and peaceful. The cabin is cozy and had everything we needed. I loved sitting out back to watch the sunrise with my husband and a cup of coffee. I will be back to recharge, watch the sunset and look at the stars when the weather is better. Stephanie and her girls were very welcoming and friendly. Buddy the dog is big and scary looking, but he is a big, sweet baby who loves attention. He loved getting a treat (dog, horse & cow treats are provided just inside the door). We will visit again.

We could not have stayed in a more perfect home for our stay. The Maetze house is truly a wonder. It is decorated with unique artifacts from Mexico and Panama. We loved the high celiings, the warmth of the original shiplap walls, and that gorgeous walk-in tub. The kitchen had everything we could need. Each bedroom has its own full bath! The view of green jays (yes green jays!) was so entertaining. The dark night sky view of stars was spectacular as we sat around a fire on a cool October evening. However, even this was out-done by a surprise greeting by NINE miniature donkeys as we drank coffee on the back porch! They were friendly and tame and just PRECIOUS! Next time we will rent all three houses because I cannot imagine a better place for a family reunion and nature retreat! And don't forget to eat at the family-owned Watering Hole in near-by Goliad's town square. Or a fascinating walk-through of Goliad's Oak Hill cemetary with its earliest inhabitants going back to just a few years after the Battles of the Alamo and Goliad including members of the Texas Calvary and veterans of the Confederate war. There is an HEB and Walmart less than 30 minutes away in Kenedy. And last but not least, the hostess, Claire, was a pleasure to deal with and very responsive. Thank you, Clare, for a truly MAGICAL stay! We will be back!
