Pet-friendly holiday rentals in Golfito

Property manager and neighbor Yeri greeted us and told us we could expect to see wildlife right from the porch and expansive screened windows and we did!! Unforgettable vacation for two elderly wildlife lovers and their son. Getting there was adventure on rough road with stream fording, so this is not a destination for the faint of heart. Home is beautiful with everything you need to cook on your own or you can arrange for Yeri and family to prepare dinners or guide you on tours. We will recommend Scarlet House to family and friends

The communication with Vanessa was great. It was exactly as it was described. You do need a car to learn the possibilities of the area, but this is generally the case in the region. Great value for money. Highly recommend for a few nights.

Casa del Bambu was an amazing airbnb, we loved every part of it. The garden and the patio are the highlights. Fully equipped household . The hosts Janina and Josh are very welcoming and communication was easy. Large private parking space.

The host is very responsive and offers activities, especially in Isla del Caño. Some information was not clear but we booked with her and it went well, despite the nice weather that was not with us. The only downside may be the kitchen which was not very well equipped, missing plates, cups, large pots (for 8 people), but the host was able to bring us what was missing. The hob was not very powerful and it is hard to eat sitting at 8. So it's best to eat outside ^^.

Loved staying here for a few days. Such a nice and comfortable house, with a large private outdoor space. So quiet and peaceful, and sitting in the living room watching the outdoors was really calming. Great wifi for working remotely with video calls. And I loved that there was a clothes washer I could use. Simone was so incredibly nice and helpful. She contacted me in advance with tours I could do in the area, and while there she helped me schedule tours with local agencies. It made it so easy for me. She has been living there a long time and is a guide in the area so is very knowledgeable. The mangroves are right outside your door and the animals you can see in them are incredible - absolutely a must to go on a tour! Erica was also so kind in cleaning the house and having it ready early so I could check in super early when I arrived in town and was tired. Highly recommend.

As mentioned, the address that comes in Airb&b is not exact. The recommendation is that they consult the host first and send it the exact address in Waze. He is always very attentive to one and available to help. Highly recommended place.

A great place to stay surrounded by so much nature, the cabin is lovely and the swimming pool especially was a wonderful addition. Great communication from Ashley, very considerate and always responsive, I really appreciate all your help in making Julianna’s stay so memorable! Highly recommend.

We enjoyed our stay and it was the perfect place for our family! Having the pool and a kiddie pool was amazing, as well as use of the Rancho. I loved that the Ranch had bathrooms too, so we didn’t have wet kids tracing in and out of the house. The house was really nice and very clean. And the space was well thought through for guests. If the house started to feel a tad small for our family, we just stepped outside and had a perfect space in the Rancho even if it was raining. The property is completely closed which made us feel safe and allow our kids to play without worry. We thought this was the perfect place for us and will definitely be back when we visit next time!

Our group of friends loved staying at this house! It was easy to find and easy to get in, and Lea and Dina were super communicative and helpful. The fenced yard really helped me have peace of mind on day trips, as our dog was happy and had lots of space to play! The backyard / BBQ area is a great hangout spot, and the pool was amazing in the hot afternoons. We will definitely be back.

A beautiful little paradise in the wild of the Osa Peninsula. The house is as described, but the peacefulness is something you have to experience for yourself. Watching the sunrise and sunset over the forest of palms and many other jungle trees is a magical way to start and end the day. There were so many birds to watch, and we could often hear the howler monkeys in the distance. There were also little piglets at the neighbour's house, so cute! The pool is so refreshing we looked forward to it every afternoon upon returning from our adventures. We spent our days looking for beaches and found some beautiful ones. The house has everything needed to cook and enjoy your meals; we ate by the pool in the mornings. We were able to do laundry as well, which was great! If you love nature, you will love this place! We unfortunately had some communication problems for checking in but after we sorted that out it was better. This was our only reason for not given 5*.

I’ve stayed in many Airbnb locations all over the world. This was the best. An artful, thoughtful well appointed home in the lush jungle. Amazing. I’ve been gone a day and I’m already trying to find ways to return.

Elise’s home was lovely and new! You can tell she cares a lot about her home and her guests in both her kind responses and by the little things - filtered water, plenty of hooks to hang items, fully stocked kitchen , even spices! She and her property manager Meredith were so helpful and generous, they responded timely whenever we had any questions. It’s close to the beach and I will definitely try to stay here every time we visit Pavones!

First we were a bit worried by the previous rather negative reviews, but it was totally fine after all. The couch had been repaired and the pots and pans are new. The place is quite remote and the driveway really long and steep, so we totally recommend to have a good car (ideally 4x4). With the remoteness comes a lot of wildlife - we saw so many birds, two types of monkeys and other animals right next to the perch. We brought good binoculars, which made it even better. Later on we did a jungle tour on the Osa peninsula and we were astounded by how many animals we already had seen on the perch in Pavones. The place is quite small. We looked at the pictures again and they don’t give a wrong impression, but for whatever reason we had expected a bigger place. Not the hosts fault. Looking back on our trip to Costa Rica, our stay at the Bird Perch was definitely a high light!

Snail House gave us the immersive experience we wanted from this area of Costa Rica. We were enchanted by the house, setting, and lush jungle environment. We encountered many species, literally in our living room! From birds and butterflies to monkeys and bugs. Not to mention all the flora! The kitchen is well equipped – from the gas stove to the appliances including a single waffle maker. Cool! The bed is comfortable. Puerto Jimenez is a short drive, has good grocery stores and places to eat. We loved Playa Preciosa. It’s about a 30-minute drive from Snail House, and worth the drive! To our delight, in the Snail House pond, we discovered a young Yellow-Bellied Slider (turtle). We named it Samuel but affectionately call it Sammy. We enjoyed our stay and feel that we had a unique experience in this beautiful area of Costa Rica. Check in and check out were very easy using the lock box at the front gate. Carlos’ house was amazing! Not only beautiful but private. We loved getting up in the morning and seeing the parrots and toucans in the trees. The kitchen was well stocked as well as the bedrooms and bathrooms and it has hot water. If you are coming to San Vito this is the place to stay

We absolutely loved our stay at la Joyita! The cabin was amazingly built by our host Peter and a fully equipped kitchen with everything we needed to cook and bbq dinner every night. The bed was very comfortable and we were provided fresh clean sheets and towels throughout our stay. Our hosts Peter and Karin were extremely helpful and assisted us in setting up tours to see the national park and go snorkeling. The cabin was steps from a gorgeous private beach and from there we could walk for miles of beautiful undeveloped beach and coastline. We felt at home and were very sad to leave. We will definitely be returning to this little slice of paradise and could not recommend la joyita enough. 10/10.

Such a lovely spot in the trees. Walking distance to a beautiful beach for swimming, and every morning an incredible pack of monkeys visited the trees around the house! The house is simple (no hot water) but it's clean and well cared for and had all the basic things I needed for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. Nice grapefruit and lemons from the land.

Nice peaceful cabin in the highlands of Costa Rica. Definitely recommend for those passing to/from Panama and looking to go via the quieter mountain border. Rudimentary cabin but with everything necessary to be comfortable
