House holiday rentals in Gilmer County

My husband and I have been taking our family on mid-winter excursions for over 20 years. In the last 10+ years we’ve added 2 son-in-laws and 6 grandkids. Alternating between Georgia and East TN, this has easily been one of our favorite getaways. Our grandkids loved the downstairs area they felt was especially provided for them, but lured the rest of us too! While we had several options for activities in the area to keep the kids occupied over the long weekend, it wasn’t necessary as they preferred to stay at the cabin and enjoy all the fun and games provided along with movies and popcorn made in the vintage looking popcorn cart! The cabin is lovely and very well stocked in every way. There was an issue with the heat-pump, but our communication was seamless with the Fordham’s and they had technicians sent out quickly to look into the situation. The cabin is set in a quiet, lovely location that affords privacy and relaxation. We would definitely recommend Lake Dakwa Lodge.

My family and I were gathering together from 3 different states to one mountain cabin in Georgia. We found Beary Happy because it met our requirements. Upon arrival, it was much better than expected inside and out! Rainy times were not a problem because the home had plenty to keep us occupied while the resort had lots for us to do when tge sun shined. The property manager was very responsive and welcoming, providing us far more than we could have hoped for. We lacked nothing but groceries, which were nearby. The cabin was spotless and smelled fresh! We hope to go there again in the future and we thank you for hosting us.

Cottage was as advertised and much more!! From seeing deer’s in the morning and evening as well as the recreation center for some arcade fun. The locution was within short drives to winery’s. Downtown Ellijay and Blue Ridge are also short drives for grate places to eat and shop. Definitely will be back!!!

An Absolutely Stunning Mountain Retreat! From the moment I arrived, this property completely took my breath away. Nestled in the mountains, the house is a modern masterpiece that far exceeds the online photos. One particularly memorable moment was returning from dinner and seeing the house perched atop the hill, beautifully illuminated against the night sky - a breathtaking scene that felt like something out of an architectural magazine. The hosts went above and beyond by creating a detailed welcome guide with quick videos of how to operate the appliances and amenities and even providing landmark information for the mountain drive - a lifesaver when cell service gets spotty! The breathtaking mountain view was the cherry on top of an already incredible experience. The skyline vista was nothing short of spectacular, making every moment of the stay feel special. Looking for a perfect mountain getaway with top-notch amenities, and hosts who truly understands hospitality? This is it!!!!

We had a great stay! The house was even better than we expected!

The place is great and Brandon was a great host. The only issue we had was with the jacuzzi jets in the master bedroom. We tried to use it but they dirt was coming out from them. Brandon mentioned that it was maintenance done by the water company but we were unable to use it. Apart of that everything was great

Beautiful location!! Plenty of beds and space for everyone in the group. It’s hard to beat the sound of the river and the views from the living room and screened porch. Stocked kitchen and bathrooms. My friends and I enjoyed our weekend getaway and wish we stayed longer. Definitely planning to come back!

The place is beautiful and peaceful and relaxing. It’s also located in a resort full of amenities with plenty of things to do and see. Nick is a great host and always quick to respond and help with whatever you need. I can’t recommend this place enough! 5 stars all the way!!

Ashley was a great host! First of all she accepted our last minute, late evening, reservation. And Secondly, she was gracious and responsive during our stay. The place was so cozy our kids did not want to leave! It was exactly as described and had everything we needed. If you're looking for something in Ellijay that is comfortable and feels private but is still very convenient to the main road, look no further!

We stayed at Jodi’s place for a quiet girls’ weekend. It was perfect- plenty of places to sleep & great common areas for hanging out. We will definitely be back!

This home is amazing we had a couples valentine trip and everything was the same as the photos great place to spend time with family and friends get to know each other cooking and games are a must have the view is beautiful and lots of space to enjoy we love it and our host great communication and problem solving and the pancake and syrup was there as in the description we will book again

The house was nice and clean. I appreciated the large sitting area in the family room by the TV. Fenced in yard was small but I liked the fact that the fence was good and secure for my dog. The driveway is steep and rutted and needs maintenance, so if you have a lower profile vehicle you will have trouble. I have a big van and even it scraped on some of the washed out ruts. The house thermostat was set to an automatic setting, we could raise the temp but after it reached the temperature it would stop running the heat and drop back down to 65. This was really cold with the outside temperatures being below freezing. Other than those few things, the house was a nice and roomy, very clean, and easy to find.

Michelle’s place was absolutely amazing! We stayed here for a New Year’s celebration with the family, and it exceeded all expectations. The cabin feels brand new with its modern design, high ceilings, and cozy atmosphere—it truly felt like a home away from home. What made our stay even more special was the thoughtful Christmas décor throughout the space, ensuring we didn’t miss the festive season. We loved spending time by the wood-burning fire, playing board games, and enjoying the arcade machines—a fun touch for kids and adults alike! The property itself is breathtaking, surrounded by nature and a beautiful creek. You can even hear the soothing sound of the water from the cabin, which added to the peaceful vibe. This place was everything we hoped for and more—worth every penny and every minute. We’re already planning our return!

This was by far the best Air BNB I've stayed at. My boyfriend and I wanted a peaceful, romantic, quiet Valentine's getaway from the city. We instantly loved the house and went to play games downstairs. Everything felt so cozy and homey. Crystal was so accommodating with check out, letting us stay a little longer. She was so helpful with everything leading up to the trip and even surprised us with little Valentine's chocolates! Best host, best place to stay! We definitely plan on coming back!!

Beautiful location and views. The house was well stocked with activities for our whole group and was not far from town. The house is located up a mountain so you definitely need off-road capabilities with your vehicle to get there but well worth it.

We had a wonderful stay! The cabin was cozy and perfect for a relaxing getaway with friends. The drive up was a bit challenging, so we’d recommend having a four-wheel drive, but the host was incredibly helpful with detailed directions and keeping us updated on road conditions. We especially enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit—it made our stay even more memorable. Highly recommend!

Our family of four couples and 2 young kids met here for a Christmas gathering. It was perfect for our needs. The home was decorated for the holidays including a gigantic beautiful Christmas tree. In addition to the luxurious bedrooms, there was a den, living room and large playroom with billiards, kitchenette and enormous fireplace. There were decks all over the back of the house looking out over a beautiful small lake. The grounds were very well kept. We enjoyed walking, swinging, and sitting by the firepit. I would highly recommend this house if you want plenty of room to spread out and a genuine mountain house experience.

What a great stay in Blue Ridge! Beth’s cottage is minutes from downtown, beautifully appointed, and she’s a perfect host. We had great communication, easy check in and lots of local recommendations. We can’t wait to come back!

Very lovely home, even nicer in person! Fire pit and being so close to the river was wonderful! Views from the downstairs king room were stunning aswell!

I really enjoyed my stay. The only thing that I was kind of disappointed about was the hot tub didn’t work. The fireplace on the balcony doesn’t work and the grill didn’t work so that was a little disappointing for my birthday weekend but everything was great.

My family and I really enjoyed our stay! The home was peaceful, Host was responsive, It was lovely and over all just very welcoming. We felt right at home! One of the best thanksgivings my family has ever had.

We enjoyed our stay! It was nice and clean. Beds were comfortable. The complimentary coffee pods and creamer were a nice touch to the place, making it feel very homey. Although, it was not “baby” proof, there were a few table nicknacks low on the shelves but I just placed them high up so he couldn’t grab them. We loved waking up and seeing the deer in the back yard, that was the kids highlight of the trip! Overall, excellent stay! Would definitely stay here again.
