Our stay at Mary's Sugarshack was very enjoyable. The view of the Atlantic was wonderful and sunrise and sunset are great. The community is off the "beaten path" but only a few miles from Phillipsburg. A car is a necessity. Finding the apartment was a bit challenging but we finally got the hang of the drive. But, DON'T try to find it at night for the first few times! One needs visual references to locate the community. The accommodations were as offered and everything was in place. And the apartment was CLEAN. Mary's recommendations regarding places to see, do, eat, and drive were right on. Would we return to Mary's Sugarshack again...ABSOLUTELY!

Cathy’s studio was perfect. I was a solo traveler, however the space would be great for a couple also. It is in a quiet neighborhood over the hill, so if you want peaceful surroundings this is the place. You will need a car as it is away from the Maho and Simpson Bay area where most of the nightlife is. SXM is a small island so you can be at any location in 15-20 min. Cathy gives perfect instructions on how to find here studio. Be ready for the incredible view as you come over the hill and down into Guana Bay. There was some bread, juice, cheese, and some fruit in the refrigerator upon arrival. That was nice to have to have a snack before going to the grocery store. AC worked wonderfully the entire trip. I really enjoyed the screened porch where I could sit and smoke a cigar. The dog on the property is adorable and will come to the screen door and say hello. I would absolutely stay at Cathy’s place again in a heartbeat. Don’t hesitate! Can’t beat the value!!!!
