It’s a quaint and compact 4 room inn, each room comprised of one queen-sized bed, attached bathroom with hot water, and a balcony overlooking "Badulu Oya". Due to Airbnb address mapping inaccuracy, the location shows as Kumbalwela, but located 850m from the Halpe gas station towards Badulla. Relax with the whole family at this peaceful place to stay.

This was a magical stay for us. The host was amazing and went above and beyond for us. He greeted us at the station and took us to his place. The room was spacious for our family of three. He walked us to show us how to get to town easily which is only a few minutes. Breakfast on the balcony was awesome. Typical Sri Lanka breakfast. Then, we needed transportation to yala and he drove us there and stopped at multiple places. He is a lovely human being with great stories of growing up in Ella. His love for a sustainable and eco friendly hotel is admirable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and feel blessed for this experience. Thank you!

Clean and tidy accommodation, conveniently walkable to many great restaurants and cafés in Ella. It would have been even better with a dressing table or some surface in the living room to keep personal items, as there wasn’t much space for that. Renuka is an excellent host—warm, welcoming, and attentive. The breakfast was exceptional, featuring a wide variety of delicious homemade Sri Lankan dishes and desserts. Truly appreciated the hospitality. Highly recommended for those looking for a comfortable place to sleep while spending most of the day out exploring and enjoying other activities.

The views from your room and the balcony are outstanding! It was a short walk from the train station to the homestay. It is out the way of the busy main street of Ella and just a nice, peaceful place to stay. The breakfast is huuuuge and delicious and th hosts extremely friendly!

Clean tidy room with an adjoined hotel. Welcomes us with a coffee , and helped with the luggage as well. Helpful and warm people. Only heads up is the room might be a little small especially with luggage around , but at the price point it’s a really good stay a little away from the main city.

Great hotel! The view from the room is just cosmic, especially the sunrise race! The price includes breakfast, although it is not written here. Breakfast is good, like a mini buffet - scrambled eggs, sausages, butter, jam, you can make toast, tea/coffee/milk, the children made Scrabble at the request. There is no car to the hotel itself, but they send a tuk tuk for you and suitcases from the hotel. The city itself and cafes are 5 minutes away by tuk-tuk, you can order it for a fee right away at the hotel. If you want steep views, settle in this area - there are no such landscapes in the city itself. We had a view from the terrace both Adam's little peak and Ella rock - we saw everything without leaving the room))))

The host was very courteous and extremely caring. We stayed for just a day but she ensured the stay was memorable. The bed, in a special note, was so comforting that we slept like babies. There is an attached kitchen too and you can make a cup of tea or boil something if you like. The place can be reached easily and the food is amazing too. She did not charge for the both lunch and dinner even though we insisted and it was chargeable. Thanks Sandamali!

This place is a quiet respite from the busy Ella town. It's very close to the train station through a short cut-- ask so you find out the secret instead of going down to the town. The house is nestled into a spot that isolates you from noise except for bird song and frogs. It was better than we expected and Sandeep and his staff were so helpful. They have a delicious and ample breakfast with both western and local foods. Soon he will have his own restaurant, too. Looking forward to seeing Villa Eden again in a future visit!
