The Cottage at Raheen is an historic and unique place to stay in Mallacoota. There are outstanding views of the lower lake from the extensive front deck. It was built in 1930 from teak salvaged from the wreck of the Riverina. The cottage is comfortable and well equipped, with two bedrooms, an upgraded bathroom, lounge room and a county kitchen. There is plenty of open space surrounded by native gardens. There is abundant space for parking and a ten minute walk into town via a scenic boardwalk.

Mt Cooper Cottage is situated on a working sheep property. It was built to be the cook house for shearers in the 19th century, with historic significance. Banool Cottage is a small, dog friendly cottage situated in a quiet closed street . Dogs are welcome ! We love our own dogs so understand the need for guests to be able to have a fun time with theirs . The property is fully fenced , dog beds , bowls, and a kennel are supplied . This area of Metung is an elevated area partly treed with tall gums. A short walk down the hill is the boardwalk that skirts beautiful Bancroft Bay and leads you into Metung Village, (15-20 minutes).

Spacious cottage with views of Mt Mesley. Easy walking distance to town centre, Livingstone Park, pump track, MTB & walking trails and both pubs. 550m to Foodworks. 44km to Dinner Plain, 55km to Hotham. Indoor fireplace. New kitchen with dishwasher, bathroom and laundry. Not suitable for children under 8 due to ladder access to single beds in the loft. Linen and towels provided. Deck with beautiful views, look out for the eagles and gang gangs.

Bungalow was one of at least 8 on site. Finding the place and checking-in was a bit confusing. It was reasonably private, spacious, and well equipped. Crockery was a bit sparse. Bathrooms absolutely basic. Mozzies were out in force at the time of our visit so we didn’t really use the outdoor areas. Location was convenient to Lake Macquarie.

We loved our stay at Eight Acres. With three small children under 6 we had plenty of room away from the busy town centre to jump in the pool, go for a walk, feed the animals and enjoy a roasted marshmallow on the firepit. We’ve recommended this place now to friends and family planning a trip to Lakes.
