Holiday rentals with lake access in Douro

We truly enjoyed our time relaxing at this scenic and historic place. Right along the river, attached to walking trails in a little park. Plenty of space and all the comforts of home. We spent a cool December evening here cozying up next to the fire and reading about the history of the region. The bridge/entrance dates back to roughly 1660-1740, incredible!

The family had a fantastic week at a great location. Joao was a great host and super helpful.

Casa de Mirao is beautifully situated and you have great views of the river and countryside from the terrace. Rafael and Marta were very friendly and very quick to respond. We were welcomed with port wine, honey and liqueur. We felt very comfortable there

I had a truly wonderful stay at Hagah Alojamentos! The place was spotless, cozy, and exactly as described. The location was perfect for exploring the area, and the host was incredibly kind and responsive, making sure i had everything i needed. My stay was just what I needed: a couple of peaceful days in the pristine mountains of Portugal. Very well, equipped kitchen, very comfy bed and nice linens …the host left me some vegetables and fruit from garden, which was amazing. A couple of stunning fireplaces in the house that I used every night Just enjoyable. Thank you.

We had a great time at Alice's, the place is equipped with everything you need and the pool and barbecue areas are very nice! The location is very quiet and somewhat secluded but beautifully located in nature.

Beautiful property with even more beautiful grounds! Eusebio's place is very peaceful, with a big pool, flat yard, and beautiful plants everywhere! The home was perfect for our family of 3. We loved exploring this remote area, as well as driving to Viana do Castelo to shop and eat.

Isabel is such an amazing host who is rather helpful and kind, we had a very good time staying there. The flat is very well designed with stunning river view.

I hadn’t researched the area well when I booked this home and didn’t realize that we’d be on the other side of the river from Porto. I’m so glad that I didn’t know as I might not have booked and we were thrilled with the location and the home. Being on the river was like watching a movie at all hours of the day and night. We loved the walks across the bridge to Porto and enjoyed the riverside restaurants and activities on both sides. The apartment is quiet and has very comfortable beds which is more important the older we get. There are stairs with the apartment on three levels. We enjoyed our brief times on the terrace and would have spent more time there in better weather. Isa responded quickly when we had a challenge with the washing machine and it was fixed the next day. She also showed me how to use the coffee machine, which produces fabulous coffee. It wasn’t difficult but I needed help. The place has everything needed for a great visit and we highly recommend it.

The apartment was so cozy, we were grateful for the little local treats that were left for us it was such a nice touch. The apartment was clean and had a beautiful view of the river from the bedroom windows. The small town was quaint and we enjoyed immensely walking around trying all the amazing restaurants and enjoying the beach. My family and I can’t wait to visit this amazing place again soon!!! My family loved staying at this beautiful suite in the heart of Vila Nova de Gaia! We felt absolutely at home, while being so close to many walkable areas. We will definitely stay again!

Spacious pristine apartment overlooking canal. Lovely small balcony so you can watch the boats sail by. Kitchen has everything you could possibly need and lots of coffee pods and dishwasher tablets provided. Ely and Fatima were so helpful and very pleasant to deal with, also flexible and prompt.

It is delighted that Sonia had tried her best to make our early check-in become possible. She welcomed us directly with a brief introduction of the accommodation. The house is clean and comfortable to all of us. Sónia’s place, located in Vila Nova da Gaia is a convenient location good to everywhere esp. it is walking distance to nearby sight-seeing place such as Jardim do Morro Hilltop park, Dom Luís I Bridge and Ribeira neighborhood etc. Fantastic views in both day and night could be viewed from both inside and outside of the house. Overall, good stay and will re-book Sonia’s house in the next time. Vincent

We had a lovely stay at this cottage located in the countryside in a relaxing place! José and Aurora were very attentive: tips, fruit and apple juice from the farm, thank you! Supermarket 5 minutes away, rivers for swimming a few minutes away, Amarante and Guimarães 45 minutes away, Porto 1h15.

We were great, it is beautiful and we loved its union with nature and sustainability. The house has everything you need and is in a fascinating and environmentally friendly place. Thank you Fernando!!

Lovely setting in the valley with the river rushing by, out porch looked up the river and walks around the grounds were very peaceful, we really enjoyed the area. There were so many small details that made the place special, lighting in the evenings along rhe paths and by the waterfall, kind and responsive communication, lovely and well designed interior, an amazing bathtub with piping hot water, comfy sheets, firewood and more. We will definitely be back.
