Holiday rentals with lake access in Cowichan Valley

This place is amazing! It offers a beautiful view of the lake and easy access. Although I didn’t have a sunny day during my stay, I can imagine it being perfect in the summer. The hosts, Amy and Patrick, were incredibly supportive and always available. I highly recommend this place and hope to return on another occasion!

There are very few Airbnb hosts like William who genuinely care about their guests experience and are willing to be accommodating when things don’t quite go to plan. The house and location are picture perfect but it’s the host that always makes it worth coming back which we definitely will!

Incredibly nice place with great host!

We loved staying here. The house is great. The front porch, the side deck with grill and sun chairs and outdoor dining is great. The dock on the water is fabulous. Any specific questions or issues were addressed immediately. Its a really lovely spot. You can't do better on Shawnigan Lake!

Huge home with all the needed amenities for our stay! Was very pleased to find a little closet of kids puzzles and books as well. My kids loved the gems and rocks that were collected around the home. Wish there was a little space where we could have found it what some of them were and where they were collected!!

What a slice of heaven! It was even better than the pictures! We thoroughly enjoyed 2 nights here (wishing it was longer) with our 18&21 year olds. There was plenty of space for us to gather as a fam or find a chill out spot alone. Allison and Sean were great with communication and giving advice for good hiking trails too! We would love to one day return!

Our stay at Gavin’s place was perfect. We had plenty of room for our group. The house was comfortable, well appointed, comfortable beds and had everything we needed and more. Gavin was super responsive to all my questions, he is a great host. Thank you Gavin! Highly recommend this home when staying in Shawnigan Lake. Lots to do, and we had fun adventuring around. Would love to come back in the summer.

The terrific kitchen/appliances even improved my cooking! Parking is off the road so it is important to refer to instructions, but it therefore has very safe, ample parking and privacy. It is well set up for large gatherings, retreats, gourmet cooking classes, etc, with kitchen, pool, hot tub, sauna. Has wonderful panoramic views of lake — changing light, scullers and crew boats.

Some Airbnb’s are magic. Michelle’s house has a wonderful serene spirit. There were deer grazing in the neighborhood one morning. We could see down to the nearby lake. At the same time the grocery store and other shops were conveniently nearby. The house has character— and the kitchen knives were sharp. Towels and beds were very comfortable. Even the shower was special. We definitely recommend this place and its host.

Matthew was an incredible host. Very patient with my digital challenges and very flexible. We booked 3 units with varying check in dates and he walked us through the process. thank you Matthew

Tracy and John are fantastic hosts. They have everything you can think of and more within the unit. There were also some other little perks but don't want to ruin the surprise should you choose to stay here which you should. The view / location can't be beat. The lake is a few mins walk away; super clean (rocky so you may want water shoes) and there is a dock to jump off of. Separately, my luggage arrived late and they provided me with extra toiletries which was so thoughtful. They also regularly checked in on the situation which I really appreciated. I hope to be back!

Quiet place with a beautiful view of Shawnigan Lake. The suite was very comfortable and clean. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Wow, Lipton's house, next to the water was perfect. Every morning we woke up to the beautiful view over looking the water of the inlet. After getting up, we enjoyed a refreshing walk in the air along the waterfront. there were many joggers and friendly people out walking their dogs each morning. it was a great start to any day. the place was central to everything that we wanted to visit. Lipton was a great host. He always made sure we were comfortable and gave great recommendations for the surrounding area. I would highly recommend his place and go back to it again if visiting Victoria in the future.

Amazing place! So convenient with the parking spot right outside — it was really easy to bring in all of our stuff. The views from the living room and bedroom were beautiful and we loved waking up looking at the lake in the morning. The beach and lake are stunning and the shallow water in front of the beach would be fantastic for kids. The condo was pristine and very well-appointed and the beds were comfy (even the pillows!). We came for a couple’s getaway weekend, but will definitely be coming back and bringing the kids next summer! Francis was very responsive during our stay and check in was easy. This place checked every box.

Enjoy the peace and tranquility this place has to offer. It was so relaxing to stare out at the wonderful bay and see otters play outside on the docks. I will always remember this place and will 100% come back to it. The host is wonderful and responsive and checked in on me various times to make sure we were enjoying our visit. I wish more hosts were like this! Cannot recommend this place any higher!

This was one of the best and most enjoyable Airbnb stays we’ve ever had. The house offered everything we could ask for in terms of amenities and entertainment. The blankets, towels, and bed linens were impeccably clean and well-organized. The kitchen was beyond fully equipped—we found everything we needed. The house was beautifully decorated with antique and vintage items, making it feel like a living museum that we thoroughly enjoyed exploring. One of the most fascinating parts was a little playroom, once belonging to a baby girl years ago, filled with toys from that era. Although we didn’t have a little girl in our group, all the adults couldn’t resist visiting this charming space. Even though our group only used one of the two bathrooms, we had a fantastic experience and would absolutely love to stay with this wonderful and thoughtful host again.

We loved our stay! Our hosts were responsive and accommodating of our large group. Everything was great and we’d loved to stay again!

My sister and I had a lovely time staying at Bill and Ashley’s cottages. The cabin was the perfect little size, and equipped with everything we needed to cook lovely meals and enjoy a fun relaxing weekend. Big thanks to Bill for lending us a guitar capo when we realized we had forgotten ours! Say hi to Zoey and Louie for us, can’t wait to visit again :)

Leah's lake front cottage is so welcoming and cozy! It was perfect for a relaxing getaway! It offers a bright open main living space with expansive views over the grounds and lake. There's attention to detail everywhere from contemporary decor to the fully equipped kitchen and bathroom. The wood stove provided a lovely warm ambience in the evening. Both bedrooms are a good size with comfortable mattresses and nice bedding. Don't miss the amazing bakery, Italian bistro, ice cream shop and more only minutes away on Upper Ganges Rd! Would definitely book this property again!

We loved our stay at this beautiful cabin! The view is amazing and the lake invites to a swim, even on cold days. The cabin was very well equipped and had everything we needed. Everything was very clean and it felt like a second home. The communication was super easy and we even received some recommendations for the area around. We will definitely come again :)

Michael’s cottage is an exceptional place in an absolutely perfect location. The main floor of the house is amazing with breath-taking views of Shawnigan Lake. It’s incredibly calm, serene and quiet and the perfect place to cook and relax after a day of hiking. Sitting in the hot tub, overlooking the lake and surrounded by over a foot of snow was an incredible feeling. Everything about our stay was great. Thank you Michael!

Chad and his family are lovely hosts. He encouraged us to let our dog play with theirs, so it really did feel like a vacation for all of us. This cottage is in a quiet location with beautiful views. I would recommend booking to anyone. 10/10
