Monthly Rentals in Casterton

A beautiful peaceful spot amongst the trees. You can hear the birds clearly, see kangaroos in the morning and countless stars at night. We stayed one night while travelling Melbourne to Adelaide and would love to come back sometime for a week of relaxation and peace!

What a wonderful house for us to enjoy, with a great kitchen and plenty of room.

Tolka cottage is a charming, rustic retreat. The farm is surrounded by state forest and a wildlife haven. We saw kangaroos, wallabies, oodles of birds, deer and a koala all from the front veranda. Ivy was very responsive and helpful with her communication. She was away when wev vsited but had a friend there who was a friendly host. The home was well stocked with DVD and games, ample breakfast supplies, good quality linen and towels. The farm requires driving down gravel road for about 15 minutes which might not suit visitors with hire cars with restrictions on unsealed roads. We had no mobile phone reception once we left the sealed roads so I recommend taking offline maps if you don’t have other ways to navigate. We downloaded books and films on our devices before arriving and enjoyed being switched off from the phone and social media. Watch out for kangaroos and wallabies on the road into the farm and in the surrounding area.

We had a delightful stay! The chapel was easy to find and had everything we needed for our stay. It’s off a quiet lane, we had the fire going and it was lovely! I loved the extra quirky features, such as the church pews, the king size bed and claw bath were a delight! I’d have happily stayed longer. Next time!
