Cabin holiday rentals in Barbeau

The perfect relaxing getaway if you like things a bit on the rustic side. Being able to swim, fish, paddle around, soak in the hot tub, or just relax and enjoy the view right outside the door was ideal. Plus there was enough space and stuff for kids to keep them occupied and happy all day long. Location was far enough from the city to be completely peaceful, but close enough to easily get supplies or just visit for a few hours. Beds were comfortable and the wood fire stove was there if we needed it to take the edge off cool mornings or evenings, making a cozy space to read and relax. Keep in mind that there is no hot water or potable water on site, but if you're used to simple cabins or camping, this is nothing to worry about. Leslie was great about staying in contact and clearly loves this place herself, which makes it a much better place to be than some of the more generic rental-only options out there. We are already planning our return for next year.

This was a brand new, beautifully built, cozy cabin tucked away in the woods. The hosts provided every amenity necessary for a comfy stay and even checked in with us to ensure we were not missing anything. The furniture was quite comfortable. Their cabin was less than a 5 min drive from Searchmont Ski Resort which was amazing and it offered a wood burning stove and a hot tub providing our group with the recipe for a most relaxing weekend! This place was absolutely amazing!! All communication with the host was great and extremely prompt. Would not hesitate to stay here again. Literally the Ritz Carlton of the area.

This is my second stay at Don's family camp, and I'll continue to book here when it's available. Don is one of the most responsive hosts I've know, and I've stayed in over 30 Airbnb's. If you're looking for something remote, but still have basic amenities plus a couple extra perks like a sauna and outdoor fire pit ... this is the place. If phone and internet service are critical, you might want to look south of the Mackinac Bridge. For my needs, I hope Don and his family continue to share their camp.

Thanks Kelly! Cute little cabin, we loved the red wings decor and the Knick knacks around the space. We were there during an especially cold and snowy winter weekend, but we had a great time hiking Tq falls and spending time in the cozy towns around the UP and Ontario. Kelly had snow shoes for us which was great, maybe will come back in the summer with the doggo to enjoy the beach and kayak!

This was by far the best stocked Airbnb that we've ever stayed at! They thought of everything - beach towels, extra fans in every room, a charcoal grill, smores skewers, and even a waffle maker! The house was clean and had some character - we loved the look of the built in high tabletop and plenty of river themed decor. For those who are picky about your drinking water, it seemed to be well water, so we ended up buying a lot of water jugs. Great location for a 'get away from it all cabin'. It was close enough to Sault Ste Marie and Mackinac Island to make day trips to those spots, yet far enough away from the city life that ship watching was the exciting part of the day and star gazing quality was fantastic - we even saw several meteors (granted we stayed during Perseids Meteor showers peak). Our hosts made some fantastic restaurant recommendations for us while we stayed. We wished we could've done more of the activities they suggested, but some were too far for our kiddos.

Well equipped! Great place to stay. We will be back.

A great peaceful place to stay just to be out in nature and relax, plus plenty of sleeping arrangements for many guests.

9 days was not long enough! Next time we hope to book a little longer. Once you’re there, you can’t leave. It’s that amazing. Worth every penny. Kai & Emily were excellent hosts and super accommodating. Spent some quality time both outside and inside, and lucked out with temps in the mid twenties and sunshine. If you have a canoe or kayaks, be sure to bring them. If you don’t, we promise you will regret it. Plan is to return for future conferences in the Soo and no matter what comes up, we will do our best to book again during the fall colour blitz. It’s beyond breathtaking. It was our second time here and it was just as nice as the first time. we had a wonderful long weekend on the water and relaxing by the fire!

Loved Diane’s cabin, it was just what we needed for some R&R! Loved being near the water and in such peaceful surroundings. The cabin was very clean and well taken care of!

A beautiful spot with friendly farm dogs that come to visit! It was so nice to hear the sounds of nature going to sleep and awakening. Definitely a place to become one with nature again.

We stayed at Pond #8 which was a short drive from the main resort. We didn’t use any of the resort amenities because we enjoyed our cabin so much! The pictures don’t do it justice. It’s the perfect wilderness getaway. The staff at check in/out were very friendly. We will definitely be coming back and staying longer.

To say we enjoyed our stay would be an understatement! The view from the living room/main bedroom is breathtaking. The silence is filled with songs of birds, leafs, wind and overwhelming beauty. We spent days in/on the water, evenings watching VHS movies and nights amazed by the bright stars

Great cabin on the lake, more than enough space for a couple people. Small boats available to take out were a nice perk. Would recommend to anyone.

Absolutely spectacular location for watching freighters. Downbound ships pass this location so close you can hear the deck hands talking. Was able to see 2 ships even though we were only there for ~12 hours. Cabin was exactly what we were expecting, bare bones but that’s all we wanted. Will definitely be back.

The cottage was just the quick, quiet and peaceful getaway I was looking for. The place was simple and comfortable for one person, with room for more, right on the water and offered an expansive lake with two additional connecting lakes you could kayak to. It was great to take a long swim and nestle back in the cottage with my coffee. My favorite part was waking up to views of the water with birds chirping and sipping coffee. It’s a great place for getting away to write, escape daily life and avoid holiday crowds. Lois was very responsive and we were able to meet and connect on our passion for Hawaii. She provided some nice perks like local coffee and bottled water stocked in the fridge. I hope to be a return visitor to this little gem. Thanks for everything, Lois!
