My Blue Heaven

The cabin is totally renovated with new appliances. Very cute and cozy, perfect for couples looking for a romantic get away. Jenkins Beach is closed for renovations this summer but you can still rent/launch boats there for a small fee. The cabin has WiFi and two TV’s, one has Apple TV, the other has streaming services as well and both have DVD players. Our cabin is not childproof, so not suitable for children under 5. Please look closely at the pictures if you’re bringing a small child.

Spirit Rock is easily in the top 3 coolest Airbnbs I've ever stayed in. The cabin is only a few minutes away from Acadia, and the property is gorgeous (drinking my morning coffee every day on the wraparound porch overlooking the beautiful back lawn was one of the highlights of my trip.) The house itself was sparkling clean, which in my experience is rare for a cabin. It felt like home from the moment we walked through the front doors.

Can’t say enough about Craig’s beautiful lakeside cottage. If you like remote, peaceful and being close to nature this is for you. The house and contents seemed brand new and they had thought of everything we could want, right down to pancake mix, maple syrup and Maine blueberries for our breakfasts. An easy drive to Acadia. Craig was communicative, friendly and helpful. We had a fantastic stay and hope we’ll be back.

This luxurious cabin was perfect! Walking distance to a beautiful lighthouse and nestled back in the woods. The hot tub was a bonus after the long day of work/play. The kitchen had everything we needed and the living space had ample room. Clean and new furniture. The beds were super comfortable. We'll definately be back.

Visited Acadia for 5 days of hiking and biking, and Rob's place was a wonderful find. Super comfortable, clean and spacious, plus an enclosed back screened-in porch to store our bikes. We were there in early October when the weather gets a bit nippy and this is a traditional cottage with no central heat or insulation, but it has a terrific wood burning metal fireplace "insert" + additional space heaters to keep everything pretty comfy. The place has a wonderful design aesthetic --- uncluttered and very tasteful furnishings and art in every room. We were out in the park most of each day so didn't fully take advantage of the kitchen, but it and the dining area are beautiful and would provide a very easy setting to prepare and serve 3 meals a day. Speaking of eating -- the main area of Southwest Harbor (just a 5-ish minute walk down the street) has a few really good options including Harbor Table (highly recommended) and Little Notch Bakery (great take-out pizza).

We spent a dreamy 5 nights at the Westerly Cottage and loved every minute. The cottage itself was perfect for our family of 4 with comfy beds, cozy living room, and a great kitchen out of which we cooked most of our meals. We were just steps away from the beach and our kids loved splashing around in the water and looking for sea shells. Sunsets over the water were world class and the water is perfect for swimming and skipping stones. Kayak rentals were easy to coordinate with the Oakland House main office and we enjoyed the adjacent hiking trail as well. The location was just what we were looking for - very quiet and serene but an easy drive to groceries/restaurants and just an hour or so away from Bar Harbor. This was an A+ stay for us and one of the most memorable family trips we've taken. We'd recommend Westerly and the Oakland House to anyone looking for the perfect Maine getaway.

We loved our stay in this cozy RV! It was well accommodated with everything we needed. Very clean and well kept. There are two other RVs on the property, so if you look out one of the small windows you can see them but it is otherwise pretty private (and there are shades you can pull down on all the windows). Gets great natural light from the sky lights! The only real con is the location. We were obviously visiting Acadia but looking further out to get a better deal. We didn't realize quite how far this was and that there is pretty much nothing in Blue Hill. It is 45 minutes to an hour to anywhere on Mount Desert Island, so it was a haul each day and definitely not convenient to come back to the RV during the day. If we did it again, we would probably stay somewhere in Ellsworth.

What a beautiful house in a lovely setting! The historic details with modern kitchen and baths made this a perfect home base for exploring this lesser known part of the Maine coast. Proximity to Schoodic Peninsula (part of Acadia National Park) allowed for great hiking and incredible views. Some great restaurants are close by. We particularly liked the Tree House in Winter Harbor and the “Pickled Wrinkle” in Birch Harbor. The house is clean, comfortable and well equipped. We especially loved the backyard fire pit. Having dogs in tow, we REALLY appreciated the fenced yard. Views of the sunset from the front yard were just stunning. We will definitely be back!

Catherine's place is beautifully decorated and spotless, and the outdoor space is also great for morning coffee and relaxing in the evening. We absolutely loved it! The location is perfect - the center of Southwest Harbor is very close, and just across the street you can walk down to the water and along a quiet street with great views. Highly recommend!!

We had a great stay at Rachel's place. It was very clean and had a great garden (saw the deer). The kitchen units are a little tired and only basic cookware is supplied but, hey, who wants to cook on vacation! The town is quiet off season and we were glad we chose to stay here rather than Bar Harbor which was very touristy -the children loved the ferry over. The local library was an unexpected gem, so beautiful inside. The local people couldn't have been more friendly and helpful.
