There is public transportation via bus, taxi or personal auto. Santa Monica is only 11 miles and Venice just 13. Santa Monica pier is just over 11 miles, Venice is a little more than 13 miles, centrally located it provides easy access to the the famous Highway 1 (pacific coast highway).
