Starry Sky and Sagirin Accommodation (Entire Rental)

DawnRating, 5 starstoday
Good for Relaxed Hikers Seeking a Local Experience This property had what we needed for a month-long stay. Located right on the Kumano Kodo trail, it’s ideal for hikers who want to chill and immerse themselves in the local lifestyle. Nearby produce stores added to the charm. Parking was a bit tricky, and it can get chilly in January, but it’s a small trade-off for such a unique experience.

Mountain greenery and silence. Childcare support Please book with two or more people

I went to Noriko's house because I needed to recharge and discover Japan by its nature. The house is housed in the mountains, 10 meters away you have a sacred and transparent river that cradles you. Quiet is master, nature is with you. The house is super beautiful, vintage and fully equipped, with all the comforts you need and the Japanese style you can imagine. A large garden behind the house for sunbathing, a river to swim, it was paradise for me, secluded, away from town. Noriko's contacts on site helped me and welcomed me to go to the hot springs, to meditate at the temple, to discover the surrounding area. This is one of my best travel experiences in my 9 months of moping. I found the peace and serenity I was looking for. Thanks again to Noriko for helping and arranging. Clean, spacious accommodation with beautiful energy. Plan to shop when you arrive for the week. TY

1 hour from Kansai Airport [Private] A house surrounded by nature.Relaxing homemade breakfast until 11 o'clock · Peace of mind for a host

SusannaRating, 5 stars2 months ago
This place is beautiful, peaceful and close to nature. Miyuki is easy to communicate with and responsive. The place is super nice, very clean and neat. The breakfast is simple yet very very homey and delicious. We wish we stayed much longer here. Locationwise is near the Gojo city so plenty of big supermarket, restaurants, etc. Recommended to drive so can explore this area better. We live the peaceful morning walk around the house. Thank you sooo much, Miyuki! Hope will be back here again in the future.

熊野古道小辺路沿いにある一棟貸しの宿YAKIOHOUSE

MichaelRating, 5 stars1 month ago
The best experience I’ve had on Airbnb! Tone and Kimi went above and beyond in every regard. The house is immaculate, very good decor. The hot pot and breakfast we were served were both delicious. Tone and Kimi and their children are some of the nicest people we have ever met. We stayed while walking along the Kumano Kodo. Note that it is a few miles north of Hongu Taisha - this was good for us because it cut off hiking time for the Chikatusyu - Hongu stretch of the Kumano Kodo, which we otherwise couldn’t have done in a day. The place had both a washer and dryer, which we found very helpful for washing our dirty clothes halfway through our hike. The morning we left, it was raining, and Kimi graciously offered to drive us to Hongu Taisha!

Soothing-like garden.

PeterRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
We loved our stay. Fumi and Toshi are the nicest people, and they were so generous with us. From meeting us at the train station on our arrival, helping us with the supermarket, explaining where to go and how to get there - nothing was too much trouble. There were so many Japanese experiences we enjoyed that would not have been possible without their help. The house is great, full of character, plenty of room, and everything you need is there. We were kept very warm with the heaters plus the charming fire (thankyou Toshi!) and the area is very quiet. The nearby train station meant getting to places like Koyasan was very easy. Fumi's breakfasts were incredible too, delicious works of art. The whole package is a great experience and a real standout in terms of hospitality.

[Doraemon] Koyasan Line Special Train Tenku Station - 11:00 check-in - 24 hours to implement infectious disease countermeasures

AndrewRating, 5 stars1 month ago
It is a very well-maintained home, with modern, recent fixtures, plenty of kitchen equipment, and very accessible to the Hashimoto train station, as well as several bus stops. I stayed there solo, but it's extremely well-equipped for large groups. The quality of the kitchen, bath, and laundry are particularly excellent, and there's a beautiful view of the mountains to the south. I recommend it very highly!

Quiet Riverside Mountain Villa — Doratei

BenjaminRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
My group used two of Lee’s homes for our stay about a 10 minute walk from one another. Both were pristine and stocked with everything we needed for the stay. The surrounding farmland and mountains were stunning with farm animals, fruit orchards, rivers and shrines all within walking distance. The area is remote and quiet, and beautiful despite our visiting in winter. I would highly recommend visiting if you are interested in seeing the rural side of Japan or just need a place to relax and reflect.

Modernist cabin in the midst of a sacred mountain

JeremiahRating, 5 stars1 month ago
This place was absolutely perfect. The reviews about Ryochi's hosting are 100 % legit. Best BNB host I have ever interacted with. Picked us up at the station and dropped us off. Offered guidance on transportation, but also offered guidance on how to spend our time in Koyasan. All great recommendations. He was able to make a dinner reservation for us and it was fantastic. The place Itself is art itself! Amazing use of limited space. it feels big and spacious, despite being a studio. Really comfy place to stay for a few days. Family Mart literally next door for morning coffee and snack runs. not to mention the cute Pon Poko restaurant right next door..we had a great experience eating there with the family who owns the place..one of those small moments you hope to have on a trip. Book the spot now. You will be stoked.

Cochi Stay, for architecture lovers

MeiRating, 5 stars2 months ago
Thank you so much Hitoshi san for an incredible and memorable stay! Check in was simple & easy, and meeting Hitoshi san after we had settled down was a great way to learn about the building, the local neighbourhood, and ask any questions. The space is breathtaking, and it’s clear to see that special consideration was undertaken to make the space both beautiful and convenient for everyday living. The extravagant bouquet of live flowers under the minimalist yet eyecatching greyscale art canvas, together with the private japanese garden surrounded by floor to ceiling windows & doors on two sides form the two major focal points. The beautiful staircase, colossal wooden beams stretching above, gorgeous kitchen island, and spacious & calming tatami room round out the luxurious ground floor. There’s a large dining table opposite the garden so whether you’re cooking or sitting you can soak in the serene view. There’s also a large open rooftop for stargazing! It’s honestly such a special place!

[World Heritage Site Koyasan B] Terakoya Retreat House IKKKOSHO (6 tatami mats for 1 person + Japanese-style room with studio)

MariaRating, 5 stars3 months ago
This home was a good place to rest and reset. A bit farther from the temple stays and main road. The shared spaces in the first floor were nice and clean. The rooms upstairs are beautiful and traditional. We were the only guests there when we stayed, so it was as if having the house to ourselves. Overall a good experience.

I used Mr. Cheihong's hotel as a stronghold to walk on the side of the road, so I chose to stay at his house for four days, and the next day from Sangen tea house can be reached in about ten minutes on foot.Ogumano Bus Station is right in front of the door, there is a super great supermarket under the bus station, the supermarket closes at 6:30, it will only open at 9 in the morning. It is convenient to take the free Kawayu Onsen by bus, and it is Yunoshifeng Onsen. On the last day, the gentleman invited me to the town festival gathering, watched the children's great performances and Mr. Hatayama's Celtic flute play, and the day of departure coincided with the kimyu festival of the main palace, watching the show until two o'clock left!Mr. Zehong is enthusiastic and cheerful, even drive to the main palace to pick up the lost people, thank you for taking care of it!I think I'll be back again, thank you!
