Wonderful place! Lisa always responded within a timely manner. She definitely did not cut any corners on this rental! I highly recommend staying here!!

Return visit! This is a great, quiet, comfortable home away from home. Always happy to stay here when we come to see our son, who lives in Carbondale. Always recomended!

We arrived on Thanksgiving Day where almost everything was closed so you can imagine our surprise having Milk in the fridge so our daughter could have hot chocolate on a cold day when we arrived. The place was ready for us as we arrived. Even though it was cold we still enjoyed going outside by the lake for a little bit to enjoy the view and the lake. The house location was great, peaceful and quiet, exactly what we needed. Thank you for a wonderful stay and would definitely visit again, this time when it's warm and sunny so we can enjoy more of the outside lake life.

My Mom, sisters and I recently stayed at Dave and Sara's 'Lake of Egypt Hilltop Retreat' for a girls' weekend, and we had a great time! The cozy property has beautiful views of Lake of Egypt and it's really a serene setting. The accommodations were great for our group. We really loved the open-concept living and dining area where we were able to gather comfortably to chat, share meals, and relax after exploring the area. The fully equipped kitchen made meal prep a breeze. We weren't able to fully enjoy the outdoor space with the deck and firepit due to the bitterly cold temps and rain, but we hope to be able to enjoy both during our next stay. The retreat's location was ideal, offering a peaceful escape while still being close (20-min drive) to plenty of activities. We loved exploring the nearby trails in Shawnee National Forest and some cute breakfast spot and antique shops. This was the perfect setting for quality time with my Mom and sisters. A beautiful house with everything you need to feel comfortable, a very quiet area and Kate is incredible! She literally saved us in the middle of a snowstorm and was always looking out for us, thank you very much! 🫶🏻

Dave's place was really great and we had plenty of room for our family, lots of amenities, and he left detailed instructions.

This is a great place to stay! Funky, eclectic design sprinkled throughout. The hot tub was an added bonus. We'll be back!

This place was perfect for us and our dog. It was clean comfortable, and was even set up for the dog. The yard and covered patio was great. They were friendly and helpful. I’d stay there again.

We had an idyllic stay at this cabin during a snowstorm. It was so peaceful and beautiful. I was worried about my getting my car in and out in the snow, but they kept the road really well plowed. The hot tub was clean and had a lovely view of the snowy woods. We will be back!

Phyllis was wonderful, kind, and inviting. check in and out was quick and painless. furniture is comfortable and she allows pets for a still reasonable price! plenty of space for the dogs to run and the place is perfectly placed far enough away from the hustle and bustle in town but close enough to run to the store if you need somrthing!
