Windee Hill Homestead in the Flinders Ranges

Windee Hill is stunning in every respect. A perfect location for the Flinders Ranges, yet you will be reluctant to leave the homestead which is rich in history and character. Evelyn has taken enormous care in styling and furnishing the house, and the kitchen has everything you will ever need. A stroll around the property gives you a sense of just what a demanding life the early settlers had; and the folder containing the family history adds real depth to that story. It's worth the trip just to stay in the homestead - fantastic.

Nigel is an excellent host, his place is very nice,clean and comfortable. You can find any appliance in the kitchen, what you need. Nigel offers Bed and Breakfast service and there were a number of choices for breakfast.

There shearers quarters are a perfect location to base yourself to explore what the Flinders ranges has to offer. The quarters are tucked away in a secluded country pocket away from any tourist hustle and bustle, but only a 10 minute drive to the conviences and walking trails of Wilpena pound. The host has maintained the old country charm of yester-year while providing today's modern comforts. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need to cook up an amazing feast! While there is no TV, there is ample board games to connect with your fellow travellers and enjoy your technology detox. This place would be an amazing spot to stay at with a large group of friends or family. We loved the campfire for roasting marshmallows and star gazing. We would absolutely love to stay here again if in the area again! Thank you Mija!!!

A beautiful home in a wonderful location. The house and garden were immaculate and the attention to detail truly outstanding. This was a hidden gem. Right across the legendary Cradock Hotel this place was an oasis of peace. The place itself had a very relaxing and calming energy. And lots of friendly touches including stuff for the kids. We enjoyed the outback sunset in the backyard. It was an unforgettable experience. Hope we get to visit again. 10 out of 5 stars !

This place is AMAZING! The photographs don't do it justice. This is the perfect place for a getaway with family. Great for kids. The views are awe-inspiring. The homestead is a home away from home. The delights of the Flinders Ranges are a scenic drive away. AND Kellie and Peter are the perfect hosts. Pizza nights are a blast. Do yourself a favour and spend some quiet time at the Homestead.
