Holiday houses in Vandalia

This was exactly what we needed for a visit with our son who attends Kaskaskia College. We were able to have him and some of his friends over for dinner and brought the family dog with us. It is a bit out of town, but there are not many options for rentals closer to Centralia. This also encouraged us to explore some places in Salem. We were unable to enjoy the lake due to time of the year we were visiting, but lake access is right across the street. The kitchen is well stocked. Some of the pans are showing some wear (typical for rental properties), so if you are concerned about that you might want to bring your own if you are planning to cook. We will definitely stay here again on future visits.

Renee's place was everything we wanted and more for our vacation! Heated pool, hot tub, beautiful surroundings and peace/quiet. The mood/feel of the house was perfect upon arrival, the rooms lit and the music was a very nice touch! The house was very clean and we hope to be back again!! 10/10 would recommend!

This is our second stay at Grant's place and it was everything we were hoping for. The cabin itself is delightful, but the outdoor areas are amazing! Grant and his wife could not be better hosts. I highly recommend this property!

Nice little camper. Comfy. Yep, the train went through quite often but didn't bother me and at night, the ear plugs worked fine Would stay there again if I was in the area.

We so enjoyed our stay at Monica’s. The location is so nice, the house so very comfortable, quiet area, close to the lake. Highly recommend it!

This is our second time staying here as a family. There are several reasons we came back: check in and out is very easy; the space accommodates our extended family very well; there is direct lake access though you have to be aware the path is “natural“ and as Doug has said in other reviews, they do not have control over improving the path; the space was very clean and all the essentials are provided; Doug is very responsive and got back to us very quickly when we had minor questions! We would highly recommend staying here, as long as it doesn’t interfere with the time we want to come back😁

We really enjoyed our stay at the Lake Paradise cabin. Everything was very clean and well cared for. There were quite a few games and puzzles that our kids enjoyed, which is super helpful when you can't bring everything with you! The bunk room does have the furnace in it, so it was pretty warm, but the kids didn't seem to mind it. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook a little bit. Check-in and out was easy, and Gary helped us out right away when we had an issue getting the Roku working! We'll happily come back and stay again, and would especially like to experience the outdoor space when the weather is a little nicer!

House was very neat and clean. Great place to stay.

Great house with plenty of room for the whole group. Bathrooms and kitchen were very nice and there is plenty of room to hang out as a group both inside and out on the patio. Lots of parking. Renee was easy to get ahold of and check in/out was simple.
