We had a wonderfully restful time at the cottage and our dogs had the best time chasing butterflies in the huge enclosed garden, and swimming in the dam on our walks on the farm. Deborah was kind enough to let us check in slightly earlier in order to still have one last Zoom conference but with the benefit of already being in such a wonderful location before switching off for the weekend. It is easy to reach on the roads and close to Nottingham Road for restaurants and shops, however we never even left the farm as it was so comfy. So many thoughtful touches - fresh flowers, home baked bread still warm out of the oven when we arrived, milk and butter from the farm. We were thoroughly spoiled. Will definitely be back!

WOW!!! What an amazing weekend with my Hubby and gorgeous daughter at Figtree Cottage, a kind and lovely host made us feel so comfortable, thank you Jen. My hubby and I absolutely loved our night relaxing swims or rather soaks should I say in the very warm Jacuzzi. To the lovely sunrise breakfasts on the balcony over looking the stunning garden. All and all we had such a relaxing few days, we were sad to leave but will be back soon again.

Robyn is the most friendly and responsive host I have dealt with. The property is amazing and wonderfully private. Great open areas for the kids to play and a game of Rugby was awesome on the lawn. We enjoyed the friendly horses and beautiful cows and the kids loved the chicken coop. The house was amazing loads of areas to braai with a large wrap around veranda and a fantastic pizza oven. All bedrooms look onto the mountain and were a good size. Huge kitchen and lovely herb garden. Royce the farm manager was lovely and helpful. The games room was a win. Kirsten the farm manager as even posted back a few items my teenager left behind - such amazing hassle free service. Thank you were had an amazing stay.

Swissland cottage is a beautifully thought out and put together home and garden. It is welcoming, comfortable, close to great restaurants and attractions of the midlands but far away enough to give you the privacy and breathtaking views to take in the best of the midlands. The cottage is designed to let you take in the view at every possible angle, from the bath to the lounge, to the kitchen. There is a wooden viewing deck and the garden has these quaint thoughtful trinkets and plants to again provide a private yet pretty, lush setting for you to really enjoy the beauty it has to offer. Relaxing hammock/swings, a pizza oven, a trickling waterfall into in pool are just added gems. Flys were an issue but that comes with a working farm and having cows literally on your doorstep. The spare bedroom needs a bigger or a powerful ceiling fan as it was extremely hot the one night and the hot air seemed to get trapped in that room, however the main bedroom was cool, bigger and had a ceiling fan.

The picture cannot describe the beauty and tranquility enough. It felt like a dream. We felt right at home and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The most peaceful place I’ve ever been to and new favourite for a stay in the Midlands, an area I quite frequent. And Gugu was absolutely amazing.
