Kid-friendly holiday rentals in The Entrance

We loved Janine and Henk's place the moment we stepped inside. The place felt like a home away from home and was so tranquil being up in the trees especially as it was raining outside. It was a short drive to Avoca Beach with amenities close by.

Had a fantastic stay at Donna’s cottage in Kahibah. The cottage is very spacious and homely and makes you feel totally relaxed and comfortable from the moment you walk in. Visited with my partner and grown up daughter who also both loved the place. The location is also great with the coffee shop across the road, which we visited a couple of times on our two day stay as well as handy local stores. Also spent the day at fantastic Dudley beach before a sunset walk at Glenrock conservation area, both within a 5 minute drive.

We had a great 3 week stay at Tom's Airbnb. It was central to where we needed to be and was very spacious, light and airy. We enjoyed the indoor greenery with the 20-plus leafy plants throughout. Loved the beautiful bathroom which is quite new, with double shower heads at each end, plus a bath. The 14 stairs at the front were a bit of a challenge, but that was all to do with my mobility issues. Tom was very upfront about the stairs, and extremely kindly allowed us to park our car next to the stairs to give me easier access. His mum Lorraine, who lives in the adjoining unit, was extremely friendly and helpful, and nothing was too much trouble for her. The front terrace was a lovely sunny spot to sit. I'm used to having a clothes dryer for ensuring fluffy towels, but thankfully the front terrace was a great area to have our washing dry on the clothes airers provided, even if the towels weren't fluffy. Whilst there was no dishwasher, it wasn't a major issue to wash up by hand.

We had a wonderful stay! The house was very clean and cozy—truly felt like a home away from home. Nicolas was super responsive and always quick to reply to any questions we had. Highly recommend!

A lovely exceptionally clean home in a quiet area. 5 minutes to Charles town shopping centre and 7 minutes to the beach. Lovely soft beds and a fantastic bathroom and shower. Kitchen had all amenities you could ask for, even though we ate out mostly! Would most certainty stay again, hopefully for longer next time!

This lakeside home is the perfect getaway for large family gatherings for all ages! The pool was AMAZING, the pool table was used constantly, the kitchen was well stocked and the 3 main bedrooms has the most incredible views. The beds were all very comfortable, and there were multiple TVs to suit everyone. The bathrooms were spacious and modern. The views were stunning across the lake, especially at sunset. our family of 13 had a very special and memorable stay. Justin's videos were very helpful and his communication was excellent.

We both enjoyed our time at Ettalong the cottage is close to the beach and local restaurants, it has a warmth and charm that is very relaxing. Emily gave us a lot of good local tips and Phil helped us with a key issue.

Tara is a great host, responds to messages very quickly and she is very mindful about the needs of the guest. I visited on public holiday, so she has kept all the kitchen essentials for us.

Perfect spot so close to the beach, cafes and busy Darby street without being noisy. Apartment was very clean and comfy. Much more spacious than the place seems in the photos but still had a homely feel. We were very happy here and would stay again!

Beautiful location, 2min walk to the Avalon shopping area, which has everything you would need great restaurants. Only 5min walk to Avalon Beach which also has an ocean pool. There are some great lookouts and hiking tracks nearby too. There was on-site parking for 1 car and plenty of easy street parking if you have a second car. The airbnb is located on the 2nd floor of Jan's house, with a private stairs entrance (would not be accessible for a wheelchair user). The airbnb had all the amenities you would need including a full kitchen and there was a washer and dryer which was handy! The airbnb was relatively clean, some areas could have a more thorough clean though. Good communication. Thank you Jan

Donna's place was fantastic for our family get together after visiting Newcastle for the day. It is in a great location, close to the beach with a great coffee shop down stairs. The apartment is spacious with great views. Donna is a very responsive host and extremely flexible with check in and check out. We will be back.

Our second stay here...and we just booked a third! Awesome location for the best of Newcastle's coastal walks, cafes and restaurants. Great apartment with everything needed for a short or longer stay. Pool a bonus too. Fast becoming our regular 'home' when in town.

I had a wonderful one night stay at Jonathan’s place. I have to agree with all the positive reviews on the property. It was a very welcoming place, right on the water, and in a fantastic location within walking distance to the main attractions. I would definitely come back!

A spacious and comfortable self-contained flat, overlooking the forest and the ocean. We had an excellent time over four weeks. Communication with a most hospitable owner was perfect. We highly recommend, and hope to be back some day!

Beautiful home away from home. The place had everything you needed. Joanne and Brian were very responsive. They live above but won't bother you and will respect your privacy. It had a lovely outdoor area which was great for my 2 small kids to run around. Right close to the water and train station. Would highly recommend!

Perfect for a weekend or even long term getaway. Location was great, right in the heart of the city, 5-mins walk to a couple local pubs, cafes and convenience stores and 15-mins walk to beach and light rail interchange. Also noticed quite a few buses with different bus routes around the area as well. Check in was a breeze and not that I had any issues but Mel was quick to reply once I had advised check in and check out. The place itself was fantastic, ducted air con throughout, 2 very big comfy beds, large lounge area and huge dining area with a kitchen that had what you need to cook for a large group of people, if you wished. Having access to a washing machine and dryer is always a plus, esp. when there’s a 2nd toilet and the bathroom was clean as well. Would definitely look to stay there again if going back up to Newcastle.

The place was very close to Mona Vale Beach. Not far from the bus to the city or Manly. Close to Mona Vale shops.

The apartment and the amenities are outstanding. We returned here because we had to extend staying away from our house because of renovations. This was our first choice and u cannot recommend it enough. What really does need highlighted is how much of an outstanding history Connie is. She was so understanding, compassionate, super friendly and flexible. She deserves 10 stars.

Lovely location to get to shops and beach. House was fresh and pretty inside. Lovely patio and wonderful sunlit home. Xanthe was super responsive when we suggested a few improvements to kitchen utensils.

There’s little else to add to all the glowing reviews of this comfortable stay at Whale Beach. We stayed here with our young son for 6 nights and it was a lovely home away from home, in a space with both character and all modern conveniences, in a beautiful corner of Australia. It’s one of the most memorable stays we’ve had on Airbnb.

Overall, a good place with wonderful views of Broken Bay and the Pacific Ocean, and West St Umina. The place is tucked away in the hills area, so you will need a car or put yourself on the bus which stops outside. The property is located down a steep driveway. Inside it has sunken downstairs bedrooms and above is a well appointed and stocked kitchen and lounge area. The shower is great for couples who like different temperature with its dual nozzle system. Bedding is comfortable. Tip for new stayers, there is a second oil heater behind the wood heater which we discovered on checkout. Paul is a supportive host that offers flexibility.

10 stars! The longer you stay in Keran’s studio (and Newcastle) the longer you will want to stay. As frequent airbnb’ers we SO appreciate the considerate built-in storage spaces, HOOKS (!), all the kitchen supplies needed to cook meals, etc.! Keran spoiled us: cheeses, fruit, butter, gluten free crackers (she asked about dietary requirements!), OJ and more. Any anxiety about lack of outdoor space was quelled by a cute cozy basement style patio and the fact that Newcastle Beach and its shaded chill spaces is only a few minutes’ walk away. I have to mention the bathroom which had the most sophisticated lighting I have seen. Plus a great shower, just bring your shampoo. Public transport is nearby but we were happy to have a car to explore and traffic was a non-issue. Smaller car is best. Restaurants in walking distance as well as ocean pools (a must!). Best grocery stores by car. We met Keran who was great about checking in w/us and suggestions. She lives above in this historic complex.
